I was in the area getting my windshield replaced and had to wait around for a few hours. I wanted to get some lunch and decided to tried Novi’s.
Excellent choice! I ordered the Combo lunch special that included a Combo sandwich, fries and a fountain drink. I added mozzarella cheese to my sandwich and upgraded to a medium fry. The beef and the gravy it was in was outstanding, the fries were delicious and they had a self serve soda fountain that had a good selection of soda flavors to choose from. I decided to try the baklava for dessert and that was wonderful also. All in it was about $24. Kinda expensive, but every restaurant seems so expensive these days. After finishing my meal, I think it was worth every penny.
The staff was very friendly, which is always a plus. There was plenty of seating and a big parking lot. I would definitely come here again if I am in the area. Give it a try!

Um this place is misleading people into thinking this is what Chicago “style” or Chicago food is. The Chicago “style” hotdog is not authentically a Chicago dog but I guess that’s why they say Chicago “style”. The beef sandwich they charge you for adding peppers sweet and/or hot and so I paid $2.20 which got me two sweet peppers and 5 (I’m being generous) hot peppers(see photo you decide how many are there). It would have been cheaper to order 1 oz of their house made hot peppers on the side it’s only .50 and I would have gotten more for half the price.

I really never anticipated this or even wanted to do a review like this. Spent $150 to have beef and sausage shipped to me, there was a major issue that caused me to lose everything I ordered. I contacted them, super respectfully and it still took me days to get any kind of response and when I did, it sounded an awful lot like I was being called a liar. Never heard back again, did nothing to make it right, just screw the customer that trusted them as a business and am out the $150. Cool. Shame I used to absolutely love Novi’s. 4 generations of my family have called Lyons home and we have all gone here for decades. Sad to have lost all that. Would had this order shipped at least once a month now that I have moved. Sad to know that a place I have been going to my whole life could’ve cared less that there was a problem. Guess loyalty means nothing in 2025. Places aren’t what they used to be. Sadly, I guess it’s Portillo’s for shipping from now on.

This place has real good jumbo shrimp at a very great price 5/5, the hand cut fresh fries are out of thjs world order them well done if you love them crispy! Beef was good 4/5 love the spicy red gard was just a bit under seasoned for my liking. The tacos reminded me of the ones they sell at burger king or jackin the box, 4/5. Gyro 5/5, Cheese Burger 3/5, pizza puff 3/5. Lived in the area most of my life and never gave this place a shot but my go to for this place is the shrimp and fries all day!

Best Darn gyro I’ve ever had! From the warm buttery piura to the thinly sliced meat! I appreciated the toppings being under the meat as allowed to laying on top of everything sliding around and falling off. Food was so good I ordered the very next day during my hospital stay! Waiting on my husband to pick it up, I’m anxious lol. Run don’t walk to Novis beef!

The Italian beef was spicy to me. Nice portions, but was expecting a good beef flavor and what I got was all spice. Had the Chicago dog. The hot dog was good, but was missing something…besides the poppy seed bun.. it was a topping that was missing.

I was in the Area and I have been hearing a lot about Novis Beef sandwich. So I had to stop and check them out. Solid Beef the hand cut fries on the other hand were incredible I believe they use a garlic salt blend seasoning

Well, that’s a really good beef….
First thing is this italian beef condom they’ve made to hold in the juice and, wow, just an immediate puddle on the bag, like I grabbed another paper bag to put under the supplied bag in addition to the foil wrapping from the beef to control the juice and it still got though the 2nd bag.
Damn, that’s a lot of beef for $6.90 (plain)
Like I said in the Original Nottoli on Belmont Ave, where else are you going to find such a good beef for under $7, just barely here, but still.
Shredded beef that almost melts in your mouth, which might off put someone who really likes a beef with some chew, but they’re wrong in this case.
Great spice heat and deeply seasoned flavor.
The roll stays together despite being drenched in juice.
I wanted to dislike this place for the distance, but it was well worth the trip.
Fluffy fries, with good crispness, still good even after traveling with the bag rolled up.
4.75/5 I still think Michael’s beef sandwich was better, but this has got to be tied or just under Johnnie’s beef sandwich(EP), the fries are far super to Johnnie’s shoestring fries.
