Stopped for gas and left with the most pleasant experience of my life, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to eat but I was hungry! I was greeted by a handsome bald man with a red beard who was welcoming and charming yet strong and stoic. I dared to ask him what’s good, He recommended I get the meatball sandwich, I said let’s do it! There was something about this gentleman, like if he was born in the Middle Ages he’d be taking on entire armies wielding a giant battle axe but here he was wielding my sandwich. A spartan of sandwiches if you will, a hero of hoagies, a gladiator of grinders. I asked him what are some good toppings and he recommended hot peppers, (it’s what he always gets on it.) I don’t know what it was about the red bearded gentleman but I trusted him with my life! I got the meatball sub with hot peppers and it was the greatest meatball sub l’ve ever had. Subway who? I will be going out of my way to get gas here and to get my sandwich prepared by the red bearded sandwich hunk.

This was my first time here and as soon as I stepped near the counter I was greeted with a warm welcome. When it came to ordering I wasn’t to sure what to get they gave me some wonderful recommendations such as the breakfast burrito for breakfast or the amatos original for lunch. I ended up siding with the original and it tasted with all the ingredients were cut fresh. As soon as they finished helping me with my order they got right in it. The order was completed in less the 5 minutes! It truly was a great experience. Would 100% recommend this place for quick food.

Everything pre made was super burnt, and shouldn’t have been placed out for sale. There was plenty of pre made pazzo and mini pizzas, yet most of what I got was inedible. Very disappointing because I love the Amatos I grew up with in Maine.
Between the two new ones at exit 5, and exit 3, they haven’t figured out how to make the food to what should be a standard under the Amatos name.

The food at amatos is good but slightly overpriced considering the options around the area customer service is very slow if it isn’t already made ie, the dont pay attention to your order and would rather make pre made sandwiches instead of focusing on the customer. Great place to go if your looking for something pre-made but there are much better options if you’re looking for something more specific
