An interesting upscale restaurant that had an intriguing fusion menu with classic Thai dishes, savory soups, exotic and traditional handhelds, shareables and entrees. Came during lunch in the winter and a nice server gave me a tour of the private dining room upstairs (no elevator) and the private “Chef’s Table” room for up to 10 people, offering a 5-course meal and you can watch the chef preparing the food through the adjoining kitchen, view through large windows. Novel! Our food was delicious but it took a really long time to get our meals. Surprising since we were the first people there, and even though we took our time deciding, we spent 2 ½ hours for lunch. So, if you’ve got time to chill, no worries, just note that this was a slow kitchen in our case (soup, chicken burger and a Thai entree). The bartender/server was attentive and friendly. He said they have an unusually large offering of drinks, compared to their sister property in Centre Valley, PA.

Upscale modern atmosphere and great service. Lunch hours were very quiet. Easy parking. Stopped in for lunch; really enjoyed the smash burger and order of hand cut style fries. Strawberry salad with added chicken was delicious. Prices seemed reasonable for quality of food.

Let’s start with the positives. It was clean and quiet at 6pm on a school night. There was plentiful, free parking.

You get 5 small dumplings for $14. I live in Philadelphia, this is inexplicably more expensive than Philly. We did the Thursday night dinner special – 2 for $45. Great value. But….The chicken was dry. The halibut had no flavor. Wine list is small but the quality was good.

Will not be dining here again.

Our waitress was stellar!
The decor was on theme and upscale.

The food was just ok. Lemongrass soup had one sprig of lemongrass and very little lemongrass flavor. The calamari coating was flavorless and puffy. The calamari was too chewy.

For the price charged the food quality was lacking.

Stopped in Friday night while we were visiting my daughter. It was extremely disappointing. We had coconut shrimp which was burned beyond recognition. The coconut was burnt and the shrimp was extremely rubbery. Then I had chicken drunken noodles. This was tasty. No complaints on that.

My daughter had a filet mignon medium rare with a baked potato. The steak was more rare, which is not a problem. But the steak was extremely tough. She had one piece and could not get through the rest. She said it was the worst steak she ever had. So I tried it to see if she was exaggerating. I tried to cut a piece off the steak and instantly knew she was right. I do not know if they gave her a really bad piece because she is 21 years old, or if this is what they serve there. But it was the worst steak, let alone filet mignon, I have ever had. It really was inedible.

The only positive thing about the night was the waitress. She was extremely attentive and kept coming by with bottles of water. All in all, we will not be going back.

Incredible experience at Notch! We ate outside on the patio on a gorgeous summer night. The bartender was so so friendly and kind, and our hostess Courtney was just the coolest (give that girl a raise!). The food was excellent as always. Highly recommend the Notch Rice Bowl – the sausage and tomatoes in here really made it special. Also loved the appetizers of the Crab Notch’os and the dumplings. The cocktails are ever changing but always interesting. Again, our bartender nailed it (didn’t catch her name but she deserves a raise too!). Overall a beautiful and delicious night. We’ll be back soon!

We ate here after visiting the Allentown Art Museum, and a nice surprise. Diverse menu and pretty tasty. We were in a bitnof a rush to get back to Lancaster, so only had items that we thought would be quick. I do wish the wagyu truffle burger had a bit more umami given the “truffle” citation in the title. The salad that came with this entree was delicious, to include being very visually appealing. We had ordered an app, however, it never arrived and our waiter was able to remove this item from our bill.

I would definitely go again and try more menu items.

We were feeling snacky so we stopped by Notch which has been on our list for a revisit.

This hit and run started with a Guinness and a New Money Old Fashioned, then we moved on to the Thai Money Bags which were these lightly fried purses of dough that were stuffed with chicken, shrimp, carrots, peas and corn along with a dipping sauce that was flavorful and not too spicy.

We split a Notch Fried Rice Bowl that was delicious! Sausage, pork belly, vegetables and another flavorful sauce.

Definitely will be coming back again to sample other dishes.

I don’t know. I’ve tried this place a few times now and it’s very underwhelming and expensive for what it is. It tries to be upscale but it’s just not and I really like white orchid who owns this.

$19 for a woodford Manhattan that barely filled half a martini glass.. maybe 1.5oz?

I ordered the fried rice bowl I asked for it medium spicy it barely had any spice at all. Friend ordered a noodle dish medium and it was almost unbearable spicy. Fried rice bowl is not fried rice at all it’s steamed rice with veggies.

Bartender had to take our drink orders after waiting 15 mins because the server was backed up but we literally were only 1 of 4 tables in the entire place. Half a dozen staff standing around. Server took our food order almost 35 mins after we were seated.

This place is just always meh. Especially for the prices.
