We went for the Easter brunch. The place is amazingly beautiful, big, bright, elegant, perfect for brunch or a romantic dinner date. Service was great, everybody was very accommodating and friendly, our waiter was always around to help in any way. The food was good, everything was cooked well, I had the salmon and it was very good, my mom had the prime rib and it was cooked perfect, my husband had the ham and it was excellent, my son said his chicken was good too. It’s a fun restaurant and we’ll be back to try their regular menu.

2nd visit to Notch 8 Grille and neither disappointed. Both exceeded expectations for total dining experience, service and food. I don’t hand out 5 stars easily! Today we thoroughly enjoyed their Easter brunch. So many selections and all were presented nicely, was fresh and prepared perfectly. Their carving station featured prime roast beef and baked ham. The ham was truly amazing! I didn’t try the beef but it looked equally amazing. Fresh shrimp platter, omelet station and bottomless mimosas or belinis (extra charge) too. All for $54pp! Service was attentive and refreshingly cheerful. I have no criticisms and that says a lot! I highly recommend Notch 8 for a fine fine dining experience. Photos are just some of the offerings!

Food was good, atmosphere very nice with classy, creative decor. But the best part was the service. Joe the bartender has a lovely personality. Professional, yet a great sense of humor. Drinks were excellent. Will definitely be back to sit in the bar lounge with Joe as our server!

Was there on Saturday evening restaurant was not full and no wait. Waitress was fine for service. The pace of the food was the issue. We had half salads with our meals. The salads took a while to come out. We were not done eating our salads and our dinner came out. The person that dropped them off didn’t get the clue that we were still eating our salads and probably should not have dropped our dinners off at that time. We finished our salads and had a dinner that was not hot since it was sitting at our table for a little bit while we finished our salads. The scallops were slightly over done. The spinach and garlic that it was served with was not executed properly in my opinion. The garlic was raw and unevely cut. The highlight of the meal was the wine we had, the bread and butter, the shot of espresso; even though it came after my dessert and the carrots.

We had an amazing experience at Notch 8 Grille recently. First, we purposefully arrived early to experience the Tunnel Bar downstairs (a must try) for a drink. This is a must try.
Once upstairs for dinner, the staff at Notch 8 was nothing short of amazing. They were friendly, accommodating, and not once did we feel rushed. The food was amazing. We had mussels for an appetizer, and the tomahawk steak with brussels sprouts for dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection.
And, both at the Tunnel Bar and Notch 8 we had martinis; which were great.
If you haven’t been, I highly suggest a trip!

I recommend Notch 8 to all visiting family and clients. Notch 8 offers a formal dining experience at a decompressed pace. Subtle music accompanied with dim lighting invokes a relaxed lounge feeling. This was evident as I observed all adjacent tables were engaged in conversation and not buried in their phones ignoring one another.

To whom it may help decide:
I have eaten at Notch 8 Grille twice. The first time was to celebrate my best friends incoming baby boy. His idea: Wednesday prime special. This was a succulent meal in all aspects, from the presentation to the flavor and the experience. This really was the best prime rib I have eaten. I was so impressed by this that my first comment after my first bite was “I’m taking my wife here for out anniversary”
The second visit. My anniversary. We walked in to a beautiful decorated christmas restaurant, the bar was dimly lit and we were able to seat in a corner table, my wife loved the vibe (so did I) We were helped by Joe, a young well verse and definitely experience hospitalist. We had scoped the menu prior to our arrival (went during the happy hour for the half priced appetizers) and indulged in Rockefeller oysters, pork belly and finished it with a dry age steak and lobster tale. The food, once again on point and delicious. However, the thing that was just fabulous was Joe’s recommendation and dedication to our experience. We had to drink a martini and a holiday drink based on Joe’s knowledge and suggestions as well as the glass of wine to go with the steak. From there he kept taps on us at very convenient times (he must of notice when we were between bites and timed his interjection perfectly). Lastly, on our way out we checked the tunnel bar. Man! if we were 10 years younger we would have stayed a couple more hours down there. I also want to add that we live north of Hartford in CT. So… make sure you try the Wednesday primer rib special but make sure you take your special someone there, even if that special person is the one you see in the mirror.

Our recent supper at Notch 8 Grille in Northampton, MA, was nothing short of first class for all three of us. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and appealing, setting the stage for a memorable feast. Every detail of the evening reflected the care and attention put into ensuring a delightful experience. For example, in the comfortable banquette seating we chose, a gap between table and bench was a bit wide for me, so our helpful waitress quickly moved the bench to solve my request.

We ordered the same starters – Notch 8 Crab Cake. Wow! It was a seductive start to what would be a benchmark culinary journey for us. The meal continued with beautifully prepared salads, fresh and crisp, with a perfect balance of flavors.

For the main course, I opted for the Filet Mignon, medium rare, and it was grilled to that precise perfection — tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, and accompanied with high end steak sauces. I paired this with the Herb Roasted Fingerling Potatoes. It was a combination that I savored at every bite. I enjoyed a glass of Tribute Cabernet Sauvignon, a rich and velvety wine that paired well with the steak.

My spouse and her sister enjoyed their selections: Duck Breast and Seared Salmon – each delicious and top notch. We all shared my generous dish of Fingerling Potatoes. The sisters’ entrees were accompanied by glasses of Elouan Pinot Noir. All the server’s recommendations were spot-on, enhancing our experience, and she gave great credit to her “A-Team” in the kitchen!

Desserts! Each was a pièce de résistance: two classic Crème Brûlée presentations (with live torch applied at our table) yielding a crisp caramelized top – and beneath, a creamy, indulgent custard. As it was my wife’s birthday (somehow overheard by our waitress) her Crème Brûlée arrived with a birthday card signed by our staff – Paige, Mes, Liv and Joe! My wife’s sister chose and relished a flourless chocolate torte of ultimate heaven. Those Notch 8 desserts were the ideal sweet ending to a flawless meal. Cups of freshly brewed coffee, served with the same grace and attention as every other course, provided the perfect finish.

What truly stood out, beyond the exquisite food, was the impeccable service, led by Paige. The staff was alert yet unobtrusive, allowing us to enjoy our meals at our own pace without ever feeling rushed. Mind you, almost 3 hours had elapsed, and never once was uttered “Are you still working on this?” nor were plates cleared as a hint to us to speed up. Notch 8 civility and grace came remarkably close to a “dining at the Ritz” environment. Their professionalism and warmth added to the overall sense of relaxation and enjoyment. If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines extraordinary cuisine, a welcoming atmosphere, and superlative service, the Notch 8 Grille is a priority. I recommend it strongly – and look forward to returning soon.

Had dinner with my husband for our anniversary & unfortunately it didn’t hit the mark. The service was overall ok… hostesses were very welcoming, server was alright & not that we were in a rush but the food took quite a while to arrive despite the dining room not being remotely full (with the exception of 2 event type reservations we observed).

Food… the salad & bread ended up being the best part. I ordered the sea bass with a coconut curry sauce. It arrived room temp & honestly pretty bland. Dinner was my first meal of the day so I ate it regardless since I was quite hungry at the time. We had gotten the prosciutto wrapped asparagus to start, which was decent but a lackluster looking 5 skinny spears. Husband got a steak that was quite a bit more done than he had ordered but again, ate it anyway.

Cocktails were pretty tasty. The blackberry 75 was my favorite of the 2 I tried.

Super cute look inside so it’s a shame the food didn’t live up to our expectations by quite a lot.

One last detail that just struck me as odd was as our server was wishing us a good night after dropping off our paid check, she turned completely away before finishing her statement which just came off as disingenuous, like she couldn’t be bothered to spend the extra 2 seconds to finish. Just came off as strange, & this is coming from someone that has been a server for quite some time, herself.

Likely won’t be back unfortunately.
