Great tasting yet inexpensive food. While you won’t have all the bells and whistles you’d expect from some other places in the area, you’ll find the food here is significantly better than any casual dining chain in the country. The dessert menu should not be ignored, nothing completes a meal out quite like some cake and ice cream.

The diner is in new hands. It’s called The Chatterbox Diner but they’ve left the old sign up above the door. Update: the Notch sign has been taken down; maybe for good or to change it to the new name. In any event, the food is great! Friendly staff, quality service. They’re making every effort to please patronage. I for one hope the new business is a success!

If you want to step straight back into 1970 and experience a genuine diner in a small town this place is the best. Get a great breakfast with coffee for 5 bucks. Great pancakes, biscuits and gravy, fish sandwiches. Sit with old geezers telling jokes (I’m one) farmers, talk hotrods, crops, listen to police radio quacking away, nice local people… It aint Macdonalds…. and it has not changed since it was “Rua’s” in 1970.
