Visiting from the East Coast we were struggling to satisfy our taste buds on a budget and limited time. I saw this place on day 1 when we arrived. Finally got here on day 5 for dinner and BABY….it DID NOT disappoint. My crew were all pleasantly pleased and they rocked that food out fresh, hot and quick. They even give you a bag worthy enough to carry the weight of the meal instead of those cheap bags most places give you.
Thanks to you and yours

Came in to try for the first time and was NOT disappointed.
Ordered the Shrimp Po Boy. On point!! Delicious. The shrimp were cooked just right, not overbreaded. The remoulade was just right as well. Got Red beans and rice, yams, greens, and cabbage. All were delicious. The greens were a bit salty, maybe from the vinegar. They are cooked with turkey. But they are still delicious.
Also ordered the Turkey Chops. Delicious alone and with the gravy.
Listen, Mama’s had been here for 4 years with good reason. I’m mad I just found them.
I recommend y’all to come on and get you some good eats. I will be back to try something new next time.

Ordered to go for my brother, treated him for his birthday, so I didn’t eat anything but something said “try the tropical punch kool-aid” while i waited and I must say besides the donut shop in LA in King and Vermont, or the strawberry lemonade at Hawkins in Watts…this was the best I’ve tasted and I travel to try different foods and beverages. That being said, I intend on trying the food next time. If it’s as good as the Kool-Aid, it’ll be Great.

I tried the catfish platter with yams, cabbage, and added macaroni and cheese, and everything was really tasty. I will definitely return whenever I am in the mood for some comforting soul food..

Must try spot. I ordered the smothered fried pork chops and kool-aid. The pork chops came with gravy, rice and onions. I wouldn’t change a thing about it. The kool aid is mixed in house and it tasted how kool-aid should. The meal was delicious. The service was even better than the food. Attentive and friendly. It was like he was an old friend who I haven’t seen in a while , but it was my first time there. I will be going back. Have to try some other dishes, but the pork chops were so good I might have to get them again.

Great food!! Freash hot crispy fried chicken!!!! I absolutely will be back if they are still open, it was empty, myself and my daughter were the only customers. It would be a shame if they dont pick up business. They are only open Thursday-Sunday. If you love you some good better then KFC, cains or Popeyes chicken then give this place a chance!!!

I got the catfish platter with yams, cabbage, and an additional side of Mac and cheese. It was all good! …. It’s kind of expensive though (my total was $30). But I will definitely come back the next time I’m craving soul food.

The food was really good and we got full. For the price I would say we got a decent amount of food. We got the shrimp poboy and let me tell you, that’s the only place I will be going to get my poboys. For our sides we tried the Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and potato salad. And omg their Arnold Palmer is the bomb.

We were in the area on vacation and decided to stop at this catchy name eatery. The experience could have been better. The online menu did not match the “daily” menu. We settled for 3 wings and a waffle, hot wings, Mac n cheese, greens and beans n rice.
Our wait time was about 30 minutes before our food came out. The music selection was on point old school Sunday type of moms house music. The restaurant had an old basement smell that they seemed to try and hide the inside didn’t appear to be as clean as I would have imagined.
I am not sure what annoyed me the most the dozens of flies buzzing around or the fact the waiter seemed to have many jobs while utilizing the same plastic gloves.
The cornbread muffin was delicious. The chicken wings are jumbo and under cooked without seasoning. The greens were bland the Mac n cheese reminded me of KFC and the beans/rice was flavorful.
Other than that the staff was friendly plenty of parking availability and the restaurant seems to get a lot of locals.
