My husband and I recently moved to Winsted and have been excited to try out the local establishments. Today we stopped by Northwest Soup and Sandwich Company for our first local spot. We will definitely be making this a regular habit!! I ordered the BLT and my husband ordered the Big Burger. We were surprised and delighted that the Big Burger comes on a freshly toasted sub roll, meaning you can get it in either six or twelve inches, and my husband ate happily until he was stuffed. My BLT was one of the best I’ve ever had, and having grown up in the south, that’s saying something! Notably, the tomatoes were super fresh, and perfectly prepared – sliced super thin and seasoned with salt and freshly cracked black pepper. That same freshly cracked black pepper also shines in the 4 cheese tomato soup, which we sampled and will be back for regularly. I also ordered a side of potato salad, and it is excellent. Perfectly seasoned and the potatoes are cooked just right- firm, not mushy or hard. The business is family run and they were very kind and welcoming. Needless to say, we will be absolutely returning on a regular basis! Next up on my list: the Reuben, the meatball, and the Drunken Parm. Yum!

Today me and my bestie decided to try this restaurant and it was the bomb. She had the pesto chicken grinder and I had the 8oz tomato soup and it Soo yummy. I also tried her grinder and the bread was just perfectly toasted where you get that crunch but it’s so soft and fluffy at the same time , something that you never will experience at any Subway. Now let’s get back to that soup I don’t know what kind of witchy potion they be brewing in there but it’s definitely got a spell on my taste buds. Can’t wait to go back and try other things.

Just got done with the Italian grinder with a honey Chipotle sauce on it. Was absolutely fantastic! Everything was fresh! Can see your sandwich being made and the dining room does have a cozy feel to it despite it’s smaller stature! Chicken chowder was great as well! The price is a little above avg, but that’s to be expected from a small business but the quality of the product is worth every penny! Don’t miss this shop as you drive by, it doesn’t have the greatest street side visibility, but anytime that I am in the area, I am going to make sure to stop by!

The soup is so delicious! The creamy potato bacon cheddar is our favorite and the spicy sausage and potato is a close second. We haven’t had a soup there we dont like. They are all amazing! The sandwiches are delicious as well. Especially the chicken cutlet blt and Brian’s Bomber! Always friendly service! A hidden gem in Winsted

Honestly I was excited , I called ahead and he said he prepped all the chicken it’s never frozen. It’s fresh so I was looking forward to it . So I’ll go with the good first . The chicken cutlet breaded BLT was good. I don’t really have a complaint about that. It was pricey, But very good as for the grilled chicken with the pesto mayo it was unfortunately so rubbery that I couldn’t even eat it. I tried to offer my husband, he couldn’t eat it either. It was just very, very bad texture like not edible. The bread was completely soggy as well. I’m upset bc for 13$ for just a hard roll I expected better it was a waste of my money they have potential but that just wasn’t good first time … the let my husband taste test the chili and soup those were good as well . Maybe I’ll go back and try again but I wasn’t happy 30$ for two hard rolls and couldn’t even eat one of them had to go to work hungry . Oh also thee was hard pieces from grill like super hard hurt my tooth from the grilled chicken .

Best staff you will ever meet with the most delicious food around! Fast service, fresh ingredients and a classic, homey atmosphere. I could not recommend this place more. (I am in love with their grilled chicken pesto sandwich)

The soup was really incredible and their sandwiches/wraps were great too. I got the chicken cutlet BLT and it was delicious. My boyfriend got the Caesar wrap and said he could taste the house made Caesar dressing. Really quality food!!!

Super disappointed:/ called and ordered the chopped cheese. Not bad but asked for provolone and they gave us American. Also got the drunken chicken sandwich . I was super excited for this and unfortunately the chicken was hard as rock and chewy in spots .. to the point I could barely eat it:( I don’t know what happened but it was almost inedible . Unfortunately we paid 42$ for two sandwiches and didn’t want to waste so we ate what we could .
