A Gainesville institution since 1996 (Go Gators). The Ville had changed a lot in 30 years, but NW Grille feels the same as it did when it first opened: great seafood, great people, and a cozy (if Purgatory) vibe. Tell Larry that I said hi.

Decor is pretty good. Very “sea” orientated. The bathroom was very cute. Big painted manatees on the stall doors.
The staff are nice people. You have to wait to be seated.
Got to be honest… the food was kinda bland. Most of the clientele are older folks so I think the kitchen caters to that generation. Not a bad think just not my thing. Over all I might go back just to try more things on the menu but so far I only recommend to older generation.
Edit: scallops broiled and shrimp /scallops pasta.
Like I said I will visit again. I support local and your business is a very busy place.

Plenty of room (not squeezed between other tables or guests) that’s my pet peve with other restaurants. Food is absolutely delicious and great quality….I highly recommend the ahi tuna with steamed broccoli and rice pilaf all cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back soon.

Greeted Warmly and seated right away. Menu had a wonderful selection and specials. Our Server Mickey was Friendly and Fast and our appetizer and lunch was Delicious! The Best Fresh Fish hands down. I had the Cod which was Incredible and Hubby had the blackened grouper. Both Amazing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this great family owned restaurant

This is clearly a “where the locals go” place. It was busy throughout our dinner but we never felt rushed.
Staff members are friendly and accommodating. Portions are generous. Dessert was not too sweet. We were encouraged to share dessert – the server brought two spoons without being asked (we ended up each having a separate dessert).

We had my mom’s 100th birthday party in the private room and it was wonderful. Jessica provided excellent service; the space was perfect; everyone helped me decorate; all our guests had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this for a fun event.

This typically is my go to restaurant for a nice seafood meal. Tonight, really left me feeling let down. I ordered to go simply because my elderly mom who has dementia struggles in the evening and loud noisy atmospheres like restaurants don’t help. I ordered our meals so that both could be prepped and we could go home and eat leaving no time for mom to get agitated. I left my mom locked in the car to go in and grab our food. No host was at the stand so a waitress got my food and cashed me out. As I left the restaurant, I looked at the receipt attached to the bag and my order was correct, but my bag felt very light. I went out, checked my bag and noticed that I only had one meal in the bag. I then had to explain to my mom that the order was not correct, and I had to go back in to get the order fixed. This didn’t suit my mom well who was beginning to become agitated due to the confusion of me having to go back in. I calmed her as best as I could and headed back in. I found the host seated at the bar eating, explained what had happened and they had to look at what I had before they believed what I was telling them. I was told to wait and my order would be fixed. Of course I had to return to the bar a second time to ask what was going on. I did eventually get both meals but no compensation was offered for this gaff. I am just thankful that my mom handled the confusion. Given her medical state this mix up could have turned into a disaster.

Phenomenal meal. My wife had the drunken grouper and I had St. Augustine shrimp with grilled grouper. Fantastic. Service was top notch. Seated and served quickly. Shout out to Jay our server for being awesome. Just what we needed to polish off 9 hours in the car. If you’re in Gainesville for any reason, this place should be top of the list!

Delicious, made to order food. We did have to wait quite a bit for our food, but it was worth it. So fine dining, but not necessarily fast. The mashed potatoes were incredible!
