Great ice cream and lots of cool choices. I had a chocolate milkshake. The kids had a raspberry milkshake and a hot fudge sundae. Reasonable price for the big portion sizes! Flavors of ice cream they have are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, Pineapple. They had lots of toppings you can add. You should definitely stop there for a treat while you’re in Valdez!

Tons of options from Dole pineapple floats to sundaes, milkshakes, parfaits and espresso (but they don’t open until noon, so don’t count on them for morning caffeine). Open late in the evenings. Kids can get free ice cream coupons from the Harbormaster for wearing their lifejackets. They did get my order incorrect 3 separate times on 3 separate occasions this week, but were quick to fix it without issue. Tons of parking, but the line can take awhile on nice summer evenings! Very kid friendly with a few kid-sized picnic tables too.

Soft serve (not real ice cream), so of course no BUBBLE GUM, but at least they had butterscotch. It’s the only ice cream Valdez has to offer, so, like a 6/10 on a deployment, it’s as good as it gets (hence the 4 stars).

We were surprised by the novel ice cream/shake treats and our ability to further customize them. Stopping by here for treats really enriched our Valdez experience!

The 1964 Earthquake Shake was amazing! My son’s ice cream was already melting and dripping down the cone when it came out of the window. It melted so fast he had it running down his hand and all over the ground. Not sure what type of ice cream they use, but do not recommend getting it on a cone. He said it tasted great though! Service was fairly slow with only one person working, but we had nowhere to be and it was nice out. They only accept cash, but there is an ATM at the Safeway next door.

Simple ice cream place with vanilla, chocolate and twist soft serve. Reasonably priced and fast service. They also have milkshakes and other specialty sundaes that we didn’t try.

My husband and I went to Valdez on our incredible Alaskan honeymoon. The city of Valdez rocks, as does this phenomenal ice cream/coffee stand. I had the pine shake and my boo had the polar shake. The service was great and there was even a sweet surprise from a dog named Cooper. Wish we could live here and visit this shop every day!
