Loved the food, especially Mapo Tofu. Beef with Mushroom was decent. The service was also great. Slightly expensive though!

Food here makes me angry. I’ve always loved handmade dumplings from the Northeast, but theirs tasted too much like Fujianese dumplings and apparently used very cheap ingredients. Very bad aftertaste.

I mostly wanted to try the 锅包肉 because of the good reviews, and that was very disappointing too even for someone not from the area.

I had a wonderful experience at the Northeastern Chinese restaurant, where I tasted a variety of dishes from the region. The Japanese braised tofu was soft and flavorful, with a rich sauce that complemented the rice. The red hot pepper sauce beef was spicy and tender, with a hint of sweetness and vinegar. The fish with tofu was a hearty dish, with a crispy skin and a smooth texture. The pumpkin fried was a pleasant surprise, with a crunchy exterior and a sweet and creamy interior. The chicken crispy fried in small pieces with red spices was a delight, with a crispy coating and a juicy meat. The squid fried was also delicious, with a chewy texture and a savory seasoning. Everything was top of the level, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine.

I visit here at least once or twice in a week. Best ever Chinese cuisine place for me. Even when I had Chinese food like mala xianguo in Korea, it couldn’t make me satisfied because I miss here! Servers all know me and know what I am gonna order before I have a seat always thank you so much and I’ll see you again! Mafo tofu, mala xianguo, guobaorou, dongpo pork, fried rice, milk tea, Chinese pumpkin pie, omg just soooo good!!!!!

This might actually be the worst tasting Chinese food I’ve ever had in my entire life. That was supposed to be pork fried rice. It’s got strings of some kind of beef in it, but it doesn’t taste anything like pork and has no taste to it at all… The dumplings the sauce they gave me was vinegar. I’ve never in my life had vinegar with dumplings, and then the Chicken with broccoli super bland no taste at all… Definitely the most expensive Chinese food I’ve ever ordered and the worst

We celebrated the Chinese New Year with a dinner here. The dishes are well crafted. The service is prompt and attentive. Great choices for vegans and vegetarians as well.

Been going here over a year and if you are looking for authentic Chinese food this is the place! Their round tables are perfect for big groups and you can order so many different dishes from mala to casseroles all priced very reasonably. Recently had a party in their private room and their service was amazing too! We ordered almost the whole menu and every single dish was amazing, and for vegan options there are so many different vegetables that you don’t find in most Chinese places here!

It felt somewhat unwelcoming when we first arrived, as there was a brief period where no one acknowledged us. Eventually, a young man noticed us, seated us, and handed us menus. However, after that, we waited long enough to start wondering if anyone would actually come over to take our order.

Once we did place our order, the food arrived surprisingly fast—probably within 10 minutes. While we’ve seen other reviews mention long wait times, that wasn’t our experience. The food was okay, but the lack of hospitality makes it unlikely that I’d return.

This Chinese Northern Eastern style restaurant is generally rated 4.5 stars, and being in Albany bumps it up to 5 stars.

Must-try: five-color Chinese salad (五彩大拉皮)

Recommendation: fried eggplant with minced pork (肉沫茄子) and the stir-fried taro with sugar coat (翻沙芋头).

Food: I’ve visited twice and tried the five-color Chinese salad, fried eggplant with minced pork, stir-fried taro with sugar coat, stewed baby chicken with Chinese mushrooms (小鸡炖蘑菇), and stewed pork bones with bean sauce (酱大骨). The five color salad is a delightful mix of mung bean noodles, vegetables, and a standout sauce. The “mino” (a traditional Chinese raincoat makes out of straw) eggplant dish showcases the chef’s skill, with the eggplant sliced thinly and connected. The sugar-coated taro was surprisingly good, tastier than the candied version. While the stewed pork bones with bean sauce and stewed baby chicken were decent, the pork bones are not leg bones and the chicken portion in the soup was small.

Note: They offer a discount for cash payments.

Parking: free parking in the plaza parking lot.
