5 stars all the way. The brisket grilled cheese is amazing. service is outstanding with Shelley at the bar and here for as long as I can remember. We weren’t staying here this trip but so glad we came to check out the new restaurant . It’s just a short walk in the subway from Mayo and up one floor. And the lunch is very reasonably priced. went back next day and had French dip split 2 ways. another great lunch with a better atmosphere and just as affordable as the Mayo cafeteria

Its smaller so the seats are quite close together would be my only complaint but the food and service were top tier. I Seen our waitress was the only one working tables and yet our food still came out hot. The food was delicious and filling. I had french toast and bacon, my husband had the all american breakfast. Above all it was a great stop and a good option and the prices are not ridiculous. Id definitely recommend

this is my second time dining here and it has been amazing every time. Our server Christine made the best recommendation of the walleye entrée and it was absolutely fabulous. she also highly recommended the tomato vinaigrette salad dressing which was outstanding. Christine is friendly, attentive and well informed with her recommendations. It’s so nice to go out to eat and receive such exceptional service. We look forward to dining here again on our trip to Mayo.

If you have the privilege of going to Mayo Clinic dont waste the moment. Skip the cheeseburger, skip the steak. Go to North Stone Kitchen for the Healthy Bowl + chicken. Top 5 best salads I have ever had.

Would give it 5 stars on all areas. Food was good – vegetable soup, French dip. Well prepared, well presented. Nice selection of hot tea. Pleasant server. Strikes me that if you are in town for the clinic, this is a good place. Basic food plus more interesting choices. We took our time, did not feel rushed. Not sure of all ammenities.

If you are looking for a common hotel bar/restaurant this is your place.
The featured wild rice and chicken soup was just bland and uninspired, the beef on the french dip overcooked, onion raw, fries hot and crispy.

1-20-25 My wife and I came here on a cold frigid day. It is restaurant week and this in our first restaurant if the week. My wife decided in a burger while I order the 3 course meal they offer for restaurant week. My wife likes beef well done (I know) and I did taste it. Not my liking with the well done burger but she said it was good. My 3 course meal however was way better than I expected. The house soup they had that day was tomato soup which tasted like a fancy marinara sauce which tasted good. The entree I got was the Smoked Duroc Pork Chop. The size of the pork chop was small but it was packing some real good flavor. The inside was nice and soft while the outside wasn’t too crispy. It wasn’t dry at all. The carrots were really flavorful and soft and I just kept wanting more. The potatoes had good seasoning flavors. The sauce was thick and goes well with the pork. One of the pork chop I’ve had in life so far. Then came the dessert. I had chocolate torte. The dessert was good. Not too sweet. I wish it was a softer cake, but overall it was chocolaty. Overall a good place to eat, will be back next time to try different food. First restaurant of restaurant week and it did not disappoint, hopefully the other place we go to are just as good.
Also heard from the server talking with another customer that they are going to change the inside soon.

For a recent place in Rochester, Northstone is a welcome experience. The breakfast comes nice and fast, big portion size, and for a reasonable price in the heart of downtown. It is worth a try at the very least!

Rochester has many great restaurants. But it’s cold and snowy, so I ate at the Marriott restaurant/bar. I have eaten at the bar twice now. The food is fantastic. The service always great. Tonight I had the Walleye dinner. Crusted and perfectly baked. The cranberry-rice side was amazing.

Bryan, my bartender/server was great. Very attentive, friendly and professional.

Will return on my next trip to Rochester.

I’ve been here for breakfast many times. I make it a point to stop in after getting lab work at Mayo because I am usually “hangry”…First off, it is a great breakfast! The servers are very attentive and friendly. You need to know that it won’t be cheap, but the food quality and service make up for it. This is not like eating at the Skylight commons…. that has its place if you’re in a hurry and need to fill your gullet—but at Salute for breakfast—You’ll get real hot, good tasting food and coffee in a quiet environment…
Both Linda and Michaelee are great servers.
(Btw— the whole place is getting renovated soon, so we will see what happens).
Anyway— I’ll be back for my all American breakfast done just how I love it soon!
