Now, the food. It’s definitely on the more affordable side for steaks in Cambridge, and I tried some of my friends’ steaks, cooked perfectly and truly succulent. The oysters were so fresh, and the mussels were to die for. We all loved the fries; you could tell the oil they use is high quality and changed regularly. The Caesar salad had the option of adding chicken or salmon, which was a wonderful touch and whilst I didn’t try it my friend was very pleased with the salmon option. The chilli broccoli was extremely well seasoned. Overall, not a single one of us had anything we’d change about the meals, it was delicious, did not take very long especially for a Saturday night and even though the restaurant was busy we felt like a priority.
We all got cocktails and they were very well made. The mojito was perfectly minted, and the Old Fashioned was beautiful to drink and to look at. The wine menu was extensive, and we also ordered some prosecco that I can’t remember the name of that was delicious.
Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be visiting again, and if you’re a steak or seafood lover, I can’t see why you wouldn’t go!
We had a lunch set menu for birthday celebration. The atmosphere was as great as the food. The only thing was just the medium rare steak was medium well at last, probably because we spent too much time to enjoy the mussels. Everything was great indeed.
Recommended to friends already!
The staff were very polite and friendly. Their attitude created a positive impression and helped us enjoy the time there.
The food was also satisfying. The steak was very good, and we liked it a lot. The seafood pasta was also quite good. We had no complaints about the dishes at all.
So happy to see decent oysters with reasonable price, would be my go to place for oysters for sure, steaks are amazing, perfectly cooked all the time with lovely smoky flavour, good portions too
Solid wine list too, lots of cheap options, nice restaurants atmosphere and interior, feels more posh and expensive than the actual price!! Super friendly and quick service too
This is now my one of the favourite oysters & steak restaurants
The team is suuuper friendly and service was amazing
Went here for lunch 3 times out of the 5 days we spent in Cambridge. Will definitely come back if we’re ever back in town
Called to try oysters for the first time, and was welcomed to come and indulge.
When I arrived the host greeted me warmly and took their time showing me around the restaurant and the different options for seating (Tuesday evening, fairly quiet).
Seating:
I chose to sit outside with the most fantastic view of The Fitz though the inside was a lovely cozy cottage setting.
Ordering:
I was given time to see the menu before ordering the glass of champagne with two oysters offered all day, all week.
Service:
My food was served as quickly as expected, polite, and perfect as were the explanations of how people choose to eat and garnish their oysters.
Not the overpowering fishy taste I was expecting as with caviar/roe etc. The closest thing I’d describe them as is the subtle taste of the ocean breeze.
I ordered 6 more and tried them in every permutation I could think of, plain, with the refreshing shallot mignonette, lemon slices, ground black pepper, and Tobasco sauce!
10/10, must visit.
