Dishes are also very inventive and beautifully plated.
Gorgeous views and cozy interior.
From the setting, the service, the food; we were treated to an excellent experience. We loved every course and were talking about our dinner for days afterwards.
We are excited to come back for a Sunday brunch. I can’t recommend North Pond enough, it was an exceptional dining experience.
The atmosphere is just as impressive as the food. Being located right in the park adds a cozy and exclusive touch, and the wooden interior design makes the setting warm and elegant.
Many thanks to the chef and the entire team for such an unforgettable dining experience. Without a doubt, one of the best culinary evenings we’ve ever had!
There are lots of restaurants in Chicago with amazing food.. and this place is certainly amazing, but it’s been a long while since I’ve experienced such exceptional service.
Also the watermelon that tastes like sashimi is so unique… would love to eat 10 more of these!
We had the Sunday brunch, and it was amazing! Portion sizes are great, but not too much. And the kitchen plays with unexpected flavors and textures that are delightful.
The staff are top notch! No detail was missed. Our waiter, Peter, was happy to answer our questions and provide reccomendations. That combined with the beautiful architecture and backdrop of Lincoln park make North Park an unforgettable experience.
We will be back!
Came here for Sunday brunch and was blown away. The setting is absolutely beautiful, nestled right by the pond, and the ambiance was made even better by a playlist of 80s alternative and Top 40 hits (totally unexpected, but I loved it!).
The service was flawless—friendly, attentive, and genuine. I had the pork belly special, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, followed by the strawberry Swiss roll for dessert. Both were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. They also had fresh, house-made lemonade served as cocktails with a variety of options—mine was with chartreuse, and it was divine.
Highly recommend this spot for a celebratory brunch or a splurge-worthy meal. Can’t wait to come back!
But all in all, the value of this brunch is definitely exceeding the cost. Highly recommend it.
**North Pond – A Culinary Love Letter to Chicago’s Seasonal Bounty**
As long-time *Top Chef* devotees, we were admittedly heartbroken to see **Chef César** eliminated — but that sentiment quickly turned to joy when we spotted him in person at **North Pond**. Gracious and warm, he took the time to step out and greet us, which was not only a delight but a true testament to the welcoming spirit of this gem tucked into Lincoln Park.
Brunch here is nothing short of a masterclass in seasonal, thoughtful cooking. We began with the **Tomato Gazpacho**, delicately accented by **Busan crab leg** and topped with an ethereal **marigold tuile** — a refreshing and sophisticated opener that struck the perfect balance between earth and sea. The **Grilled Little Gem Wedge** followed, elevated by **lamb lardons**, crispy **fried green tomatoes**, and a velvety **Green Goddess dressing** — a classic reinvented with flair.
For our mains, the **Local Striploin** was impeccably cooked, paired with buttery **fingerling confit**, a whisper of **chipotle aioli**, and crowned by a vibrant **sunny-side-up egg** — a dish that married boldness with refinement. The **Braised Pork Belly** over **Janie’s Mill Bloody Butcher grits** with a **strawberry chili glaze** was the perfect contrast: smoky, rich, sweet, and subtly spiced — an absolute standout in both concept and execution.
Desserts were equally triumphant. The **Paris Brest**, with its airy **vanilla pâte à choux**, floral **lavender mousse**, crisp **chocolate craquelin**, and **blistered huckleberries**, was elegant and nuanced, while the **Brown Butter Financier**, paired with **cherry sorbet**, **Marcona almonds**, and a silken **chocolate ganache**, was decadence redefined.
Our **Passionfruit Mimosa** and **Bloody Mary** were flawlessly balanced — bright, bold, and the perfect complement to the meal.
And then there’s the **setting**: nestled beside the lake with panoramic views of Lincoln Park’s lush greenery, North Pond’s location feels like a serene escape from the city’s bustle. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers so consistently on both plate and place.
In short: North Pond isn’t just a meal — it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, hospitality, and nature’s best offerings. A true Chicago treasure.
From start to finish, the service was exceptional: warm, attentive, and professional. The team even created custom menus for our table, which made the celebration feel extra special.
The food was outstanding. Highlights included the Summer Panzanella, Lamb, and Striped Bass—each dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. For dessert, the Cinnamon Churro and Peach Cobbler were the perfect finish.
The serene setting, Chef Murillo’s creativity, and the overall hospitality made this an unforgettable brunch. North Pond is a true gem in Chicago, and we can’t wait to return.
