Really enjoyed coming to North Italia for their restaurant week menu. Service was attentive and even though there was a miscommunication about the mushroom side dish we ordered that got delayed, they did the right thing and comped the dish without being asked. The portion sizes were ample and almost everything was delicious. My favorite was the arancini. But also had a great salmon dish on top of a perfectly al-dente small pasta. We also tried a butternut squash on polenta side that was great! The desserts were good but not amazing. Also wasn’t super impressed with the arugula avocado salad. It was fine but the flavor combination wasn’t doing much for me or my wife. Overall, we really enjoyed North Italia and will go again.

We had a family dinner with a party of 16, and they accommodated us very well. Our host—unfortunately, I didn’t get her name—was amazing, handling our orders smoothly and accommodating all of our requests. The food was great, flavorful, and clearly cooked with care and professionalism. The place is open and very comfortable, with good spacing between tables. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience from every side.

Definitely worth a visit for some delicious Italian food! The crudo was pretty good, but could’ve used a little more seasoning. My wife and I love the Bolognese and New York steak. The tiramusu was very good as well.

The interior decor is nice and service was very good. Highly recommend if you’re stopping by Fashion Valley!

The food’s a coin toss—some days you score, other days you’re wishing you’d risked the food court orange chicken. The hot honey pizza, though, is fire—one of the better ones in San Diego. Bar service is always on point, making it the perfect place to hide from mall chaos with a glass of wine and something that doesn’t come on a plastic tray.

Extremely disappointing experience. We ordered multiple pasta dishes, and all of them were very bland. The wait time was also unreasonably slow and there were barely any customers. I understand being busy, but this felt excessive for how empty the restaurant was.

The worst part, however, completely ruined our meal. While eating pizza, I noticed a thick short strand of hair (looked like a pubic hair) embedded in the crust (the outer edge where you hold the slice). When my mom politely brought it up to a waiter, he looked at it for a moment and then swept it off the table without any real explanation or apology. He then asked rudely if we wanted a free pizza.

The way this was handled was incredibly uncomfortable and dismissive. It genuinely upset my mom and ruined what was supposed to be a special mother-daughter outing. We completely lost our appetite and could not continue eating.

The only positive was the tiramisu, which was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, one good dessert does not make up for poor food quality, slow service, and such an unprofessional response to a serious hygiene issue.

3 slices of Balsamic vinegar and olive oil bread. A simple green salad with grilled salmon was very good. Bolognese pasta was Al dente but almost too hard. I liked that the pasta did not have eggs or dairy. Our server was professional and friendly.

The food at North never fails. The menu offerings are unique and always tasty. The quality never falters. Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable about offerings, and willing to make modifications.

I only took off one star because of the aggravating lack of communication and consistency among management regarding POS entries for item modifications. Over multiple visits, I’ve had staff and managers happily ring up the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka “no meat, extra pasta”. On a good visit, the “no meat” option is priced lower than the regular entree, and the “extra pasta” is an add-on that brings the entree back to the normal price. However, multiple times now, managers have refused to allow such price modifications.

Look, I understand it’s asking for a lot and may be considered “over the top”. But when a POS option is available on their end, and past receipts show the modification, my results should be consistent.

We went here last night and are still taking about it! We had the kindest server and the food was amazing. Highly recommend starting with the olive oil balsalmic bread. The squid ink pasta with calamari and tiger shrimp was pretty spicy (in a good way) and easily the best dish I’ve had on my trip to San Diego. We also got the hot honey prosciutto pizza which was amazing with the ricotta dip. Overall would ABSOLUTELY return any day.

We had an absolutely enchanting evening at North Italia in Fashion Valley, and I must say, it was truly a night to remember. As we stepped into the restaurant, we were immediately enveloped in a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic date night. The décor was sleek and modern, with subtle nods to Italy’s rich history and culture.

Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with ease and making expert recommendations along the way. We started with the burrata appetizer, and oh, it was love at first bite. The creamy mozzarella and fresh tomatoes were perfectly balanced, and the accompanying basil and balsamic glaze added a depth of flavor that was simply divine.

For our main courses, we opted for the pappardelle Bolognese and the spaghetti carbonara, both of which were cooked to perfection. The pasta was al dente, the sauces were rich and velvety, and the portion sizes were generous, to say the least. But what truly elevated our dining experience was the exceptional wine pairings. Our server expertly selected a few glasses that complemented our meals beautifully, and we thoroughly enjoyed sipping on each one.

The ambiance and environment of the restaurant were truly special. The lighting was dim and intimate, with soft music playing in the background to create a romantic atmosphere. The outdoor seating area was beautifully landscaped, and we loved watching the sunset while we dined.

What impressed us most, however, was the exceptional service we received. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the entire staff seemed to be working together seamlessly to ensure that our experience was nothing short of fantastic.

All in all, our experience at North Italia in Fashion Valley was truly unforgettable. The food was exceptional, the wine pairings were superb, and the ambiance was romantic and intimate. If you’re looking for a great place to take your significant other on a date, look no further than North Italia. We’ll definitely be back.

I have been to other locations and most of the time have been satisfied with the food and service. However tonight we tried this location for the first time, the server was a very sweet lady but unfortunately, she was in such a hurry to get us out of the restaurant that it made us very uncomfortable. The food was delicious as I expected and arrived at the perfect timing but as soon as I put the fork down she grabbed the plates and without asking if we wanted the check or not she brought the check immediately. The whole time we were there was less than 45 minutes and it felt like someone was chasing us. I don’t think I would return to this location since I would like to enjoy my meal promptly, particularly when it is not the weekend and there are plenty of available tables for other guests.
