I got a Chicken Tender Wrap & Orange juice and it was 10/10 highly recommend really awesome place.
Nevertheless, this was the first South Bay bar that had no issue extending their hospitality and attentiveness to someone who doesn’t come out as regularly as others do. Yes, I may be more introverted than some, but this was the first time I wasn’t made to feel unwelcomed in any sense. Where others so badly missed the mark, North End delivered. Thank you!
Beyond the pleasant service, their menu had a lot to offer. Food was on point, delicious and came out in a timely manner. I was pleasantly surprised at how many people were ordering take-out from here, and imo that’s always a good sign. I can’t wait to try new items and was impressed with their nightly meal specials. Beer taps were clean, pouring perfect Guinness and cold IPAs. You guys rock
Jack at This Hernia Beach Restaurant is an absolute standout. From the moment we sat down, he made the entire experience feel effortless. Super friendly, on point with recommendations, and genuinely attentive without hovering. He read the table perfectly, kept the energy fun, and treated us like regulars on our first visit. The food was already great, but Jack took the whole night to another level. If you go, ask for him — he’s the one who makes the place feel special.
Let’s keep it real—North End is a South Bay staple. The food? Always 5 stars. No matter what you order, it hits. From wings to sandwiches, it’s the kind of elevated bar food that keeps locals coming back. The drinks? Heavy-handed (in the best way) and always solid. You’re not leaving thirsty.
The vibe? 100% Hermosa. Chill, unpretentious, and full of familiar faces. Especially now that Waterman’s is closed, North End is where you go to post up, catch a game, or flirt a little.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? The service can be a coin toss. If Julian’s behind the bar, you’re golden—friendly, attentive, and just gets it. But if it’s anyone else, it’s a gamble. Sometimes great, sometimes… not so much.
Still, it’s the kind of place you’ll always come back to. Local, sexy, and just the right amount of dive.
Food is always delicious. So good I never get to take a picture. Flavoring is incredible. Along with their generous portions.
I’m very big on dive bars and finding my foreverhome and you can’t go wrong. The ambiance is definitely local spot drama free and very inviting.
