I got the raw oysters to start: they were huge and delicious! We also got the bone marrow, which was a large portion. It was a tad on the salty side, but I can be a bit sensitive to salt. The grilled rustic bread was a bit too well done, but went well with the bone marrow.
We ordered and shared the Delmonico steak, medium rare – it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I ordered scallops with it, and they were amazing! We got the mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides. The potatoes were so smooth and buttery – delicious! The asparagus was overcooked, in my opinion. Flavor was good, but way too limp and soft for my taste.
Our servers were so attentive, kind and really took care of us. I had the blood orange margarita, and Jose made my son a Shirley Temple.
The chef gave us a complimentary birthday dessert of their chocolate cake, which was rich and moist! A great way to end the evening. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would go back!
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive throughout the night. Everything came out beautifully prepared and well-balanced, making it an all-around great dining experience. We popped in here before a play down the street. They’ve taken over the old Rocks space, which was quite large. Personally I would’ve found a way to divide up the main dining space with an option for semi private dining. There are a lot of tables in the room and while the decor is nice, it feels sterile.
We went for an early dinner, so I wasn’t shocked that it wasn’t very crowded. Service throughout was attentive, it felt like there was always someone new checking on us.
We ordered the beet salad to start and I got the seafood risotto while my husband got a steak and the brussel sprout side. They were out of the beet salad, so we pivoted to Caesar. The salad was fine, but I wish they had cut up the romaine into bite size pieces, so we didn’t have to. They had 3 different options during bread service. The sourdough was fantastic. The seafood on my risotto was cooked perfectly, but the seafood was over salted. It seemed a bit spendy at $58. My husband found his steak cooked to medium rare, but dry and salty. We suspect it was over salted before cooking.
Overall, this fell flat with us. If you’re going to charge River North prices, the food needs to be executed better.

We began with the Roasted Bone Marrow, which was rich and luxurious, paired perfectly with toasted sourdough and a bright herb salad that cut through the richness beautifully. The Shrimp DeJonghe was just as impressive, with plump shrimp in a decadent garlic-herb butter that we couldn’t get enough of.
Then came the highlight of the evening: the Bone Ribeye. This 28 oz cut was a true showstopper, deeply flavorful, perfectly marbled, expertly cooked, and so tender it practically melted in our mouths. Paired with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes finished with bone marrow butter and fresh chives, it was an absolute dream.
To Finish:
We ended the meal with the Basque Cheesecake, which was stunning in both presentation and taste. Lightly caramelized on top, perfectly creamy inside, and served with fresh berries that added a bright, juicy contrast. The finishing touch of whipped cream and a sprig of mint made each bite feel extra special.

The setting was elegant yet relaxed, making it perfect for a special night out. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu, guiding us through selections that made the entire experience even better.
