I’m not one for writing reviews, but best believe this place deserves it! This place really brought me back to Egypt. The food was phenomenal, everything came out hot and fresh and I was definitely savoring every bite. If you are looking for authentic Egyptian food this place is a must try. I will definitely be back!

Asked for a a Shawerma Fateer with beef instead of chicken. They gave me it BURNT. $26 FOR A BURNT FATEER?! I didn’t check the box till I got home and opened it because I trusted that they would do me right. The fateer is BARELY stuffed with cheese. Absolutely ridiculous. Made me wait a whole hour for one fateer just to give me terrible food. Ended up throwing it away because of how badly burnt it was. Disappointing. DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

First time ordering, my husband went in and ordered then waited for our food. Was handed two bags, he asked if it was right and was told yes so he left. When he got home we opened a completely wrong meal. We ordered chicken shawarma sandwich, combination plater, and hummus. We got two beef sandwiches, Jerusalem salad, two ghanoush, falafels, and a beef hawawshi. My husband called and was told to bring receipt back. When he went back he was scolded, told he was wrong. And denied our actual meal. We feel bad for the people that dint receive their meal because it was given to us.

Had a great experience in north avenue falafel, I’m an Egyptian and this is the closest I could find to Egyptian feter (pies) here in Chicago, the owner was very hospitable and offered complementary items to the child in my family, the food was as expected, overall great experience

A truly authentic Egyptian food experience. We tried the feteer with Egyptian-style basterma and cheese mix, and it was great! The wait is not long, maybe 15 minutes to get your order which came piping hot from straight from the oven. We also tried the grape leaves platter, a little bit pricey (5 pieces for $5) but really really delicious. A must try when you visit Chicago or nearby places

tried this restaurant today and it was absolutely amazing! I ordered the sausage pie and it came out hot and fresh. The dough was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the filling was rich, flavorful, and well-balanced.
The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable, which made the whole experience even better.
I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic flavors. And if you go, you must try the sausage pie – it’s a winner!

Tried Egyptian FALAFEL place yesterday and wow… the food was amazing! The fatira (Egyptian pizza) was next-level—flaky, cheesy, and just so good. We also had the chicken shawarma and beef shawarma, both packed with flavor and super juicy.

The Egyptian TAEMIA (falafel) was crispy perfection, and we couldn’t resist trying a bunch of the Fatira fillings—sujok (spicy sausage), cheese, and kabidah askandirani and finallythe HAWASHI is so delicious. Every single one was delicious in its own way.

On top of that, the service was awesome—super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

If you’re looking for authentic Egyptian food that tastes homemade and full of flavor, this place is a must. Definitely coming back soon!

North Ave Falafel is hands down the best falafel around. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and always fresh. Their shawarma is just as good — juicy, seasoned right, and super satisfying.

And don’t skip dessert… the coconut cake was incredible. Honestly one of those places you keep coming back to because everything just hits. Highly recommend.

The owners are incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming.
They’re the only place in Chicago that makes authentic Egyptian feteer (Egyptian pie) — flaky, buttery, and filled to perfection. We also tried the kebda (Alexandrian liver) and hawawshi — both were absolutely delicious and full of bold, authentic Egyptian flavors.

If you’re looking for real Egyptian food in Chicago, this is the spot. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back!

I would give this restaurant 5 stars but beef portions were skimpy. Unlike Shawarma Inn, they definitely hook it up. On the menu it says hummus included but it wasn’t provided. Also, the pita bread wasn’t warm. I’ve tasted Shawarma Bite but it doesn’t come close to North Avenue Falafel in the flavor department. The food is flavorful at North Avenue Falafel. I think if they decided to put a little more beef, I would definitely come back, also if they included the hummus instead of the other white sauce.
