This place is clean, the sushi is consistently delicious, and the service is excellent. The owner, Brian, is very nice and often stops by to make sure everything is going well. I highly recommend starting with the miso soup and gyoza. For sushi, the Rainbow Roll and Memorial Park Roll are fantastic, and the shrimp shumai is a must-try. Overall, a great spot for fresh sushi and friendly service.

The most family friendly sushi restaurant we have been to. My kids love it! Great sushi, sake and great waitresses! We keep coming back regularly!

I’ve dined here several times to give both the cooked food and sushi items a fair chance, and here’s my honest take: this is quite literally one of the WORST dining experiences I’ve had in Houston! Given how competitive the restaurant scene is here, I’m genuinely surprised this place is still in business. You’re essentially paying premium prices for cheap-quality food. The clientele likely consists of those unfamiliar with authentic Asian cuisine.
– Hand Rolls: The soggiest I’ve ever had — the seaweed is so chewy it’s hard to bite through. At $7+ per hand roll, you can easily find better quality elsewhere.
– Cooked Items: The fried rice was greasy, bland, and easily one of the worst I’ve ever had.
– Sushi: Most rolls are drenched in sauces to cover up the cheap, old fish. The rice falls apart, and my toro sashimi (nearly $20 for three tiny pieces) arrived gray. Confused why they priced gray, yellowfin tuna at the price of a bluefin tuna!
– Management: According to other reviews, prices have risen since the location change, yet the online menu hasn’t been updated in years — and there’s still no website. In this day and age, that’s hard to believe. I imagine the hosts deal with plenty of frustrated customers because of this. It reflects clear neglect from ownership.
– Overall: Disappointing from start to finish. The only redeeming parts were the convenient location and the servers. Across five visits, I consistently saw the same two young women who were both exceptionally kind. Unfortunately, I also witnessed the owner micromanaging them while they were clearly overwhelmed and juggling multiple tables. That experience alone pushed me to finally write this review.
If the owners want this restaurant to survive, they need to seriously reevaluate their food quality, business practices, and the way they treat their staff.

My wife and I have been coming to Nori for so long we can’t remember. Way back in the Kirkwood and Memorial days. My kids love it and it’s always consistently good. Tonight was a big exception. We both ordered and as we stuck in to our respective dishes we looked at each other to gauge the other’s reaction. The rolls were so different and terrible tasting we had to ask the waitress if the chefs and/or ownership had changed. Even my Viva Las Vegas roll, which is usually an easy quick choice for flavor was nothing but rice and overdone tempura. My wife’s California roll added seaweed wrap, which was not typical at all and it generally tasted bad (the wrap was a surprise, the taste was the problem).
Not sure what’s going on but something changed here big time and we are so very disappointed. It’s always been our absolute favorite sushi spot but after tonight we’re pretty sure we won’t be back.

In 2025, you should have your own website or accurate menu pricing available online. I placed a take out order based on the only available menu I saw online and showed lunch combination priced at $11.99. When I placed the oder, no one told me price over the phone. When picking up the order, I was charged $25! I was told that maybe it was old menu which fine, but be a responsible business owner and have your prices available to customers. Photo attached of what’s included for the astronomical price for the most basic lunch sushi combo. Only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because staff is friendly.

Food was not good, certainly not how I remember it to be before it moved locations. We were also surprised when we got the bill, there are way better sushi restaurants at equal or lesser price, didn’t think it would be so expensive given the poor quality and taste. We won’t be going back.

It wasn’t amazing but it was good. Waitstaff was nice. I went twice to see if it was better the second time for a 5 star but it was the same.

Lunch was a very good price. $20-22 for sushi, sashimi, or roll combo. Very fresh tasting. Great service.

Came in for a quick lunch.. they were packed at noon. Had the salmon lunch special that comes with miso soup, salad, tempura veggies, and your choice of rice (white, black, or fried rice). I originally got the Wasabi sauce on the side which I’m glad I did because it had very little flavor, tasted like corn starch which I guess is used to thicken the sauce. I asked for teriyaki sauce and it was much better to dip. Lots of food, I had leftovers to take home.
