Nora Mac’s – Ballantyne

It was my first time here for an Irish Soul Sister’s lunch!

What a wonderful place, fantastic service, the staff was fantastic.

I was so busy enjoying my food after taking pictures of everybody else’s – that I forgot to snap one of my plate.

I got the Irish breakfast, it was delicious. Along with a cup of fabulous fresh onion soup!!! Soooooo good!

There are pictures of it on Google reviews that someone else took so take a peek.

Ballantyne Roast beef sandwich, Reuben sandwich, shepherds pie, curry dish, Irish spice bag, I loved the sausage pastries.

Steaming hot Irish Bread with 3 butters.

Can’t wait to go back, and won’t forget to snap a picture of my plate, but the next meal is going to be fish and chips!

We were too full for dessert but they were able to easily handle a table of 13 women at 11 AM no issues.

Oh! They have a days long St. Patrick’s Day celebration! You’ve got to look it up online and call to see what they’ve got going on.

They also have Irish music and Irish bands and while I didn’t go upstairs, I was told that they have a space upstairs. I think you can sit outside? Again, it’s just another reason to go back and check everything out and get a more comprehensive review.

Plenty of parking by the way, and by the time we left at around 1:30 or so? The place was filling up!

Great experience! Service was perfect, we got seated within 20 minutes on a Saturday night without reservation, our seating area was adorable, amazing and secluded; food was incredible! Reminded me of Dublin, I look forward to coming back. Highlights: the bread and butter appetizer was insanely good and the spice bag was a 10/10. Great fish and chips and the Reuben egg rolls were different and delicious.

Had an amazing Tuesday night meal at a reasonable price! The corned beef was melt in your mouth delicious and the cabbage was the best I’ve ever had. The roast beef sandwich was very fresh and you could taste the care that went into it. Highly recommend! The only con was it was a tad loud, because there were so many people here enjoying a great meal.

Fantastic little pub. The food was fantastic and our waitress was awesome. Very comforting food.the seasonal drinks were tasty though I would recommend getting the gingerbread Irish coffee *after* dinner, it doesn’t pair well with the corned beef I had.
And the price is super reasonable given the quality and quantity of food you get.

10/10 will go again.

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner here, that also had great service, and reasonable prices. We ate on the outdoor patio, which was fine. I had planned to get Fish and Chips, but I opted for that days Prime rib special, 8 oz for $22, with mashed potatoes and broccoli. 12 oz and 16 oz cuts were also available. The prime rib was plated well, and horse radish and aujous were provided. I love a good Prime Rib, and this didn’t disappoint me. Cooked medium rare, with a crispy skin on the edges, it cut easily and was delicious. I also enjoyed the mashed potatoes and broccoli, and all paired well with my Jameson on the rocks. My wife ordered the beef stew, arriving in a nice covered bowl. She also loved the dish. The beef stew was atop perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes! My wife enjoyed her white wine. We opted to end our dinner with a slice of great tasting Raspberry Cheescake with coffee. Great service throughout our entire meal, thank you Christine.

Fabulous Irish pub in Charlotte. From the moment we sat at the bar, the bartender Dominic introduced himself and then asked for our names. I have never had a bartender ask for our names, very impressed. Then when another bartender came, she also introduced herself and again asked for our names. This made us feel very welcomed.

Oh we loved it! I was looking forward to a new spot for a relaxing, cozy meal and I found it! The food and service were great. Place was clean and we got a table after a very reasonable wait for a rainy Friday night at dinner. We didn’t feel forgotten about or rushed. Espresso martinis for dessert is always a fun decision!

I visited Nora Mac’s on St. Patrick’s Day, and it was the perfect place to celebrate. The entire atmosphere struck a great balance between a traditional Irish pub and a modern American social bar. It felt festive and authentic without trying too hard, and the energy in the room was contagious.

The highlight of the evening was the live Irish dancers—they performed twice while we dined downstairs and once again while we enjoyed drinks on the rooftop bar. It added such a unique and memorable touch to the night. Despite the holiday crowd, the staff remained friendly, knowledgeable, and impressively prompt.

We ordered bangers and mash and fish and chips—both were hearty, flavorful, and reminded me of food I’ve had in Ireland. We also sampled Guinness, Jameson, and an Irish coffee to round out the full experience. Everything was high quality and perfectly timed with the vibe of the night.

The rooftop bar offered a more relaxed, open-air setting that still carried the festive spirit, making it a great way to wind down after dinner. Whether it’s for a holiday celebration or just a casual night out, Nora Mac’s is definitely worth a visit. I’ll absolutely be back.

The spice bag is a delicious taste of modern Ireland. The staff is friendly and the drinks are so good. Best Irish pub in the city.

If you live in South Charlotte, and are not eating at Nora Mac’s… Your messing up! Always a great atmosphere, great pub fare, and great drinks. The staff is what makes this place great; they’re always attentive and smiling. I’ve been here with the guys to watch a game and grab some drinks, and also been here for my kids birthday. They do it all… And it great! Love this addition to the neighborhood.
