Nora restaurant moved to Sylvan from Bishop Arts and the food here is even better. This intimate small restaurant is pretty and festive, with a fun patio space and sufficient bar seating. The appetizers are interesting and different than your usual guacamole, or fired stuff you find in most restaurants. All the grilled meats are well seasoned and tender. The grilled chicken kebab in yogurt sauce is real stand-out. Nice to have a cozy fun place with different food in the neighborhood.

Small restaurant with great ambience. The food was superb and the service excellent. We ordered the dolmas which was dressed very nicely, instead of just plain like many places. The kadu was especially delicious and their rice is so flavorful. Also got the vegetarian sampler with the spinach, eggplant and kadu. Definitely coming back!

First-time customer, and wow—what a great introduction to Afghan cuisine! The food was absolutely delicious. The hummus was perfectly done, the light green salad with yogurt sauce and a touch of sumac was a pleasant surprise, and every bite was packed with rich, savory umami. Truly a hidden gem. Definitely worth checking out!

The food is decent. The server gave some good suggestions. Flies kept landing on the food though due to bar being opened to the outside and people using the door into the dining room. Service to be honest, was lackluster, and very slow after we got our food. Everything is way overpriced and many entrees are the same as the appetizers but bigger. Food often comes out cold or lukewarm. Ambiance is very nice though.

Been coming to Nora for the past 5 years and am always impressed by the quality of food! It is my family’s favorite restaurant and look forward to our special occasions so we can eat here. The best food in Dallas hands down!
The did move locations to smaller place, which doesn’t seem like it can hold larger parties unless seated outside. If you don’t mind that and want delicious food, I’d highly recommend!

The ambiance is so lovely! Perfect for a romantic date night or evening out with an intimate group! The lamb qabli palao was so tender and melted in your mouth, amazingly cooked. Top 3 best lamb I ever had anywhere. The chicken ‘grill’ came with rice, char grilled tomatoes, onions & peppers with a delicious yogurt white sauce. Also very good, chicken was slightly salty but still highly recommend both dishes. The dolma apps were mouth watering, do ask for extra lemon- adds the perfect taste to the grape leaves. Sambosa goshti with the green chutney was also very good. The only thing we wouldn’t recommend it’s the Vegetable combo, the dishes weren’t that good. But it’s understandable as the cuisine is more focused on meats. Drinks were delicious!! We got the apricot sour (a must order!) & the Texas sagebrush. Staff was very kind. Highly recc this spot & will definitely revisit 🙂

So it is currently 12:49am and I just got into bed after finishing the rest of my leftovers from this place. It was my first time eating afghani food earlier this evening. I got braised lamb shank earlier at a celebratory dinner for my friend. She got the chicken with yogurt. We ordered Dolma for appetizer. I personally wasn’t a fan because it was cold and had a LOT of dill, so it kind of reminded me of a pickle. I was expecting it to be warm/hot. But my friend liked it! I rate it 3/10. Not my cup of tea. HOWEVER, that was the ONLY thing I did not like. Everything else was absolutely divine. We got hibiscus mocktails and they were beautiful and refreshing 10/10. My lamb dish was …. Wow. I was left speechless. You know the food is good when you keep shaking your head as youre chewing because its too damn good. It was a little spicy, and something in it gave it a burst of sweetness, maybe it was some type of sweet vegetable or small fruit idk. But i liked it. The lamb was tender as heck. 10/10 dish. My friends chicken dish was also amazing! It was refreshing and light but satisfying 9/10. The service was great too! The two ladies who were working were very friendly. Our waitress was a woman with a few nose piercings, she was really kind and attentive. Absolutely must come back again.

Every part of our dining experience at Nora last weekend was as a complete delight! The staff was so friendly and consistent with their service. From bus boy to manager – everyone checked in with us from greeting to goodbye. They provided on point recommendations and were gracious in their explanation of the menu and answering any questions we may have. They were so attentive and passionate about their cuisine, that we soon matched their enthusiasm.
They were also so incredibly fast! We were seated with a drink in hand within minutes. Our small plates came out almost as soon as the order left our tongues. We were left wanting for nothing!
We came in for a quick bite between drinks, and that was our only mistake – people, COME HUNGRY!! We ordered 3 of the recommended small plates to share (hummus with feta, mantoo, and garlic shrimp) and they were so damn good that I was left practically licking the plate. We watched as exquisite entrees were severed around us, wishing we had room for more. But alas all we could manage was some baklava – which was so warm, light and delightful!
Also the ambiance of this place is my Pinterest dream! It’s so beautiful and glamorous inside. Decorated in a lush forest green and gold. Inspiring art and lively (but not too loud) music.
I can’t wait to come back. Nora will become a regular date spot for us, and where I will request to spend all my birthdays henceforth.
