Our first time visiting Nopal today and my boyfriend and I were greeted immediately by Brandon and Kieren. We sat at the bar and Kieren made the best spicy margarita we have ever had (and I don’t even like tequila!) as well as a great smoked old fashion and La Niña fresa. The food was delicious and quick, Brandon gave us awesome food recommendations for the chicken Milanese and I got the birria tacos, and both were amazing. Tres leches topped it all off and couldn’t have been a better final note. Overall 10/10 and will be back to try more things for sure!

OMG!!! Nopal is a must try!!! They have made a repeat customer out of me. The food, customer, service, and ambiance is phenomenal. I had the trio for appetizer and Pollo Acapulco for dinner, and it was delicious!!!! The strawberry margarita was perfect! My waiter, Brandon treated me like royalty!!! This is definitely at the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Gainesville, Fl. Run don’t walk to try it out!!!

This was my first visit here and I was thoroughly impressed. Best Mexican food I have ever had and I’ve been all over the place. I travel a lot and Mexican is one of my favorites . The service was amazing the people were nice and the food was absolutely excellent . I will be back

Casual, cozy ambience. They had a screened, outdoor patio although we chose to sit indoors. Our waiter and servers were very friendly. The pork belly appetizer with plantains and mango sauce was amazing! Drinks were also good.

Had a wonderful dinner at Nopal, served by the cordial Brandon. Everything was fantastic but I especially was wowed by the special – a salmon dish with vegetables atop a salsa verde. It was delicious and the salmon was cooked to perfection. I hope this special returns because I will be looking for it in the future.

Had an absolute blast here with my family and Brandon, our waiter that we adopted into our family before the night was even over, lol. Brandon really made this experience for us. He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and helped each one of us order the perfect meal for what we were in the mood for and excluding our limitations without compromising flavor. The man that brought out of food was very sweet during his short trips to the table, making recommendations as well with a smile. You can tell this man and Brandon took pride in their work. Brandon’s heard that I was interested in the lights that were outside that added to the atmosphere at Nopal, he shared with me that he put them up and mentioned that the cool car with flashing christmas colored lights was his. I loved these little details and how friendly and welcoming staff was. I brought my family here because Brandon was the waiter a few months ago when my son and I came here for the first time and much like this visit, everything was amazing! We will definitely be back!

Seven of us arrived for dinner and sat outside on the patio, which is just a pleasure. Service is always wonderful and attentive. Food is very good and authentic. Several drinks, of course made it around the table. There was a prickly pear margarita that was sweet and satisfying
We did call ahead for reservation since it was a Sunday evening, and that was helpful because the patio fills up quickly. A little outside of the city of Gainesville.

This place has become a favorite for us. The chips and salsa are always good, the Margaritas are only $5 and excellent (you can taste the tequila), and the fried shrimp appetizer on coleslaw is a meal in itself, and excellent. The wife loves the Al Pastor tacos. Their bread pudding with vanilla ice cream is excellent and enough for two people to share.
We tried the outdoor screened in area, which is nice, but the location of 53rd traffic noise, from across the creek, detracts from it a bit. And the men’s bathroom smells a bit, but appears clean. (It smelled like that way back when this was a wings place – Clubhouse Grill). The servers here are always excellent and friendly. Highly recommend eating and drinking here.
Fix the bathroom odor and this place is perfect.
