Been here several times and every visit has been excellent. The food is consistently perfect, and the owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Always enjoy a good chat, and the place has such a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. One of those spots you keep coming back to. Highly recommended.

I have had a couple of favourite curry houses over 50 years, now Noor is my favourite due to such a freindly owner, Michael Noor, unbelievably tasty wholesome cuisine, modern surroundings and great ambience. Alcohol is NOT on the menu, their wine list is alcohol free but not only are you allowed to bring your own drink they keep it on chill and serve when you need topping up. Their is a private dining area for those special occasions. Went in a group of friends and we stayed for 4 hours and were not ushered out. My choice was their Jungle Curry, one of the best curries ever, hot but with an emphasis on taste and not swimming in ghee either. North End car park is just a short walk away. No pictures as I could only concentrate on eating. So, 2 days later I go back with the wife, had same meal which was exactly as before, sublime and Mrs B “stunning” and again, no time for pictures as I had to devour my curry instantly. OK, re-edited as back for a 3rd time in a few weeks, just the same outstanding food as before, default setting for us in Portsmouth & Southsea.

Ordered from here 3 times and the food was exceptional each time. Each curry was made fresh. The tandoori chicken is moist, it’s our favourite. Recommend 100%

One of our favourite Indians in portsmouth! The food is top quality, and the flavours are 10/10. Everything was perfect. The service was faultless and the staff are really friendly. Portion sizes were generous. Prices are good. Our favourites are the dansak, keema rice, birianis and the garlic chilli curry. Definitely recommend!

A party of 16 guests pre booked at Noor. Initial thoughts on this new restaurant were what a lovely atmosphere. The decor, artwork and layout of the restaurant are all very modern with an Indian vibe. The tables and cutlery are all good quality so straight away we felt very at ease and comfortable at the restaurant. The atmosphere, ambience and feel of the place I couldn’t fault, and it is obviously very popular as the takeaway queues were constant.
So it was a busy Saturday night. The menu is extensive with everything you would normally expect and possibly more – (ostrich?)
We had to wait a long time for our food tho. Initially we had Poppadoms each and the usual chutneys. However given that we arrived at 6 and weren’t served our main dishes until 8 I felt was too long a wait. I know a large party is always difficult to cater for. However when the food did arrive, it was slow and I had finished my meal before some had even been served, and my naan bread failed to arrive at all. Unfortunately we had to leave for another engagement so we didn’t raise as an issue.
Price was ok, but I had the railway lamb and to be honest I have had better elsewhere.
All in all, a really nice restaurant, but the service waiting times failed to hit the spot and as a large group it didn’t work for me.
If you can iron out those little issues I’m sure this is will be a great Indian restaurant.
I hope this is an honest and constructive review and will help to make some subtle changes.

Was recommended the restaurant by a colleague.
Saw an offer for 20% off of collection orders, so gave it a try.
It was a lovely meal and was even better value.
While I waited I was made to feel really welcome by the owner and had a nice chat about cricket and social media.
Family all enjoyed thier meals and we will definitely we having food from there again. Highly recommended

The staff were extremely polite, friendly and accommodating, and the food was wonderful. My lamb Naga, was one of the best I’ve had in a long time (usually the spices overpower the lamb, but this was very hot, which I love, but without distracting from the perfectly cooked meat), and my friend was pleasantly surprised with the quality of their vegetarian meal. He usually finds the vegetarian options to be rather bland, but before we had even finished, he was already deciding what to try when we make the inevitable return!

No alcohol served here, but you can bring your own if you feel the need.

Very impressed, and I’m glad we chose this restaurant.

Not a great experience here unfortunately. Booked a table for 14 last night for 8pm for a 40th birthday party. When arrived there was a couple on a middle table who refused to move , which was fine as this was restaurants organisation failure, therefore we had to wait almost half hour to be seated and the couple who were requested to remove actually bumped the restaurant and left without payment. Once all seated we were handed some loose balloons and told to put our own birthday banner up.

All orders were in and it took over an hour for main courses to arrive, with some items missing. Food was warm and rice was fluffy so wasnt too bad there.

Despite the delays and confusion when bill came i requested a small gesture to make up for being made to wait plus slow delivery in food, to which i was told no. Then to add insult to injury the bill was not made clear and we actually paid £50 over the top to which we were not made aware. Wasnt until a few of us discussed the bill once we got home we realised how much wed been overcharged!

Suffice to say we shall never return, which seems dissapointing for a local business , but i guess sometimes the money is more important than repeat trade.
