My husband and I were very excited to try Noona for the first time. We drove over a hour to get there. The staff was extremely friendly, and the menu looked fantastic. However, both of our appetizers and our entrees left much to be desired. The tuna carpaccio was frozen in several places as though it was set towards the top of a refrigerator. It also had no flavor whatsoever, which was a bit surprising. I got the impression it had been prepared long before we ordered it.

The mushroom appetizer, though it came in a small skillet, was lukewarm throughout.

One of our entrees (the scallops) was decent.

But our other entree was shockingly bad in its size and presentation. For starters, it was meant to be a build-your-own situation with crepes. But the duck was still fully on the bone and so small we barely got 1/3 cup of meat off of it (to try and divide between 4 crepes). The other “fillings” were just as skimpy. But the worst and most unappetizing part is that they intentionally plated this greasy piece of duck on an old paper menu. So, while my husband was sawing it to pieces, we got plenty of paper and ink in our food. Absolutely disgusting. This meal was not worth $38.

Sadly, this place has potential, but the execution was off. At least when we went. Most disappointing was that our waitress relayed this to the manager who was no more than 10 feet from our table. He never came and spoke to us or had her offer anything more than an apology (for something she had no control over). We are unlikely to return.

First-time visit to Noona Steak and Seafood in Duluth — and wow, the food was impressive.

We had an early 5:15 p.m. reservation through Resy and received clear confirmation and reminder communications from the restaurant. Parking was a challenge due to Valentine’s Day and the sheer number of people dining out. That said, parking is often tight in Duluth because of the many restaurants, so it’s wise to allow extra time.

My wife and I were promptly greeted and seated upon arrival, and our server quickly came over to take our drink orders. I have to mention our server, Maddie, who was one of the most pleasant and personable people we’ve encountered in a long time while dining out. She was a textbook example of what makes for a great dining experience.

At that point, I learned the restaurant was offering a prix fixe Valentine’s Day menu, which hadn’t been communicated beforehand. While not unusual for the holiday, it did catch me by surprise. Maddie handled the situation professionally when I asked to speak with a manager, and Leon came over quickly. After I explained, they were able to accommodate us by offering the items à la carte, which worked out well since we chose to skip one course and dessert.

As for the food — it was outstanding. My wife had the beet salad and said it was the best she’s ever had. I ordered the wedge salad, which was very good. She chose the shrimp appetizer, while I had the stuffed mushrooms; both were excellent. We each ordered the 6-oz filet, cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes and green beans complemented the steak nicely, and I especially enjoyed the house-made steak sauce, which paired very well with the filet.

I also had the opportunity to speak with executive chef and owner George Yu, who was engaging and shared that they cook exclusively over open flames using well-seasoned cherry and oak wood from a single supplier. I was even able to thank the chef who prepared our steaks in the wood-fired kitchen.

Overall, it was a fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner at Noona Steak and Seafood in Duluth, GA.

Excellent restaurant! Nothing less that stellar service, the food is perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Everything is made from scratch. They take great care of you and you never have to ask where is the waiter. The chef is personable and made sure to stop by the tables to get feedback on you meal. We tried the Maryland oysters they were flown in fresh same day. Also the shrimp bip n bap which were super large shrimp, well seasoned with a hint of Cajun and Asian flair. Also the salmon which was wood grilled over an open fire with excellent seasoning and flavorful char. This is a MUST try and we’ll definitely be back with our crew!

Everything was absolutely delicious and went beyond our expectations. We ordered the ribeye, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, octopus, and grilled oysters — every dish was spot on. The bibimbap was a bit too spicy for my taste, but the sauces were incredible. We’ll definitely be coming back with friends!

I’ve always thought seafood in the U.S. was rather predictable and lacking compared to Europe or Asia, but the dishes here completely broke that stereotype. Instead of relying on the ingredients alone, the flavors really shine through technique. The octopus tentacle and sea bass were especially impressive—the seasoning was perfectly balanced, not overly salty, and the oak aroma was beautifully infused, making each bite irresistible. The chef’s skill is outstanding, and I find the prices very reasonable. I’ll definitely be coming back, and next time I’m eager to try their steaks as well.
The foods were perfect. I am giving 4 for server, she added a ribeye steak on my bill that I didn’t order.

We brought our kids to Noona for a family meal. The restaurant wasn’t busy, only two tables were seated. So we were a little surprised when it took over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. With kids, the wait felt a bit long.

The chicken wings were a bit overcooked at first, but the staff was kind enough to bring us a fresh order right away, which we really appreciated.

Once the food came, everything tasted good and our family enjoyed the meal. With just a little more attentiveness on service and consistency in the kitchen, this could easily become a wonderful dining spot for families.

The food came out a little colder than I wanted, the octopus and oysters. The octopus had a great taste, but was cold, the oysters were supposed to be Rockefeller but had a bland taste. The oyster itself without the cheese and toppings were amazing. The black cod, had a bland taste and I personally didn’t like the texture. Our server Mattie was super sweet and made the experience nice. Overall had a good time, food could’ve been better though.

Everyone in our group of 7 really liked the place. Probably more of a seafood place than a meat place. I had a filet steak, it was ok, definitely not worth 68. Two others had short ribs and they said it was good. Others had seafood and they seemed to enjoy. The cheesy corn was really good. Service was extremely slow-especially on the drinks.

Two stars off for my ribeye steak that came out extra charred and well done, had an off-putting bitter taste. I just expected a little more for a $72 steak. I think they use a propane torch to cook the green beans? Just tasted like propane, no flavor. Service was great, other food items were not bad.

Fantastic experience. Best seafood I’ve had in Georgia – fresh and prepared well. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, Alex and the boss were both amazing. I’m happy to have found my new favorite seafood spot! We’ll definitely be back.
