Food is good, not incredible, but it is consistent and portion sizes run large (especially with a regular sized bowl).
Timing is weird here, sometimes they are packed off hours and other times there is nobody here during the normal lunch rush. But there is plenty of seating.
In fact, although I am about to voice my disapproval, I would recommend giving this place a try.
My girlfriend and I ordered Beef Stroganoff, Pad Thai, and Potstickers. Spent a while looking over the nice large menu in the line isle…
At the counter, the menu was a little confusing, despite having so few options (which I like less options if it makes for better faster food). Clerk was friendly, although when I asked if it was pork in the potstickers he replied, “I don’t know what it is, I dont know what that taste is, they are good though.” I dislike when staff doesn’t know what’s in their food. I added shrimp to my Pad Thai.
Self service station was a mess, napkins everywhere, obviously from everyone getting soda baths from the fountain, which had signs all over it warning to hold your cup all the way up to the top because it splashes… because they where missing the nozzle. Holding the cup up or not, my clothes and hands where sprayed. Unacceptable. I grabbed some of the special seasoning to try.
The food Came promptly, though that wasn’t saying much as we where the only customers at the time. The portion felt a little small due to the large bowl size, my girlfriend had a regular and the portion sizes actually looked bigger because of the slightly smaller bowl.
Pad Thai, okay, I love Pad Thai, and this was actually great taste, excellent seasoning and salt just right… and the ONLY reason I am adding a star, well, that and the potstickers. HOWEVER! I had some major issues here too. First, cilantro stems are NOT fun to eat whole… who does this?! Especially not in noodles. And, Not only that but they where wilted on the ends. I really like the addition of cilantro to this, but plating is WAY flawed. Next, the shrimp, if there is one thing that will pass me off, cook shrimp to rubber. I **** love shrimp, and these just needed to be buried somewhere and a few words spoken over them… worst yet, they had NO flavor, I might as well hunked off a piece of tire. Lastly, though it’s nitpicking, it would be nice if you put the lime on the bowl edge instead of half way buried in the noodles. I will say, I went and looked at the menu again after, and the cilantro shows stem attached, so this is a flaw from the start.
Potstickers, hey staff, it’s pork… nothing special (unless somehow it’s not pork, because that would be amazing), but the same taste I love.
Beef Stroganoff, hmm, we’ll, I didn’t try it, so I simply asked if it was good, but she could make better? She said it was alright, but she could make better (she’s not a super chef).
Overall, my personal experience nets ★★
Good tasting food does not make up for a bad experience, in the future, I might change this, but I will not likely be going back.
HOWEVER, as stated earlier, it is worth a try. Just make sure they no are no longer serving soda baths.
