NOODLEPIG is a laid-back local ramen shop serving inventive bowls built from the ground up. Unlike most ramen shops, NOODLEPIG makes its noodles fresh in-house daily and takes the time to craft nutrient-rich broths, oils, and sauces completely from scratch using high-end, fresh ingredients. The menu balances traditional Japanese flavors with playful fusion twists, alongside small Japanese dishes like gyoza, the fan-favorite J-Dog, and what many call the best fried chicken in town. Multiple-time winner of Best Fries in GR and voted Best Ramen by GRKids, NOODLEPIG also offers gluten-free and vegan options, a selective bar featuring beer, wine, sake, seltzers, and signature “boozy boba” cocktails. Open seven days a week from noon to 10 p.m.

The Zessan is WOWSA! So much flavor packed into a creamy broth with ramen noods. We also tried the Chicken Sando XL with a side of their signature fries and butter noods. The butter noods were pretty fantastic, think Japanese Alfredo with lemongrass hints! The chicken Sando was good, but I felt the amount of meat or size of the sandwich was not commensurate with a steep $13 price tag. I didn’t taste the meat as much as I tasted bun -and I couldn’t taste the sauce at all. The star was those fries! Wowsa! I’m going to see them in my dreams! The employees were great, the atmosphere was clean and bright, and I loved the emphasis on eco responsibility. Lastly, check the prices of beverages before you order. Unless we were overcharged, a fountain pop is $4.50-5ish. It was a regular-sized cup of Diet Coke, nothing fancy or jumbo. I probably would’ve passed had I known. I’ve heard they have the best fried chicken in GR… we will be back to try the Karaage! And to get more fries!

The food is absolutely exceptional. They serve alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. I had the same style drink which was fun with the boba pearls at the bottom. You get a lot of food for the price. The price is a bit higher but you are getting handmade noodles and the food is more than worth the price.
The floor is really sticky in parts which is annoying but overall it is an exceptional experience.

Solid ramen and boba, for sure. Lots of flavors and toppings to choose from, so with some help I settled on the signature zessan broth with char siu pork and an aji egg, alongside a dirty chai boba. Hot fresh boba in a refreshing chai hit right on the spot. And the ramen was really good, warm, lots of broth with a good balance of flavor and just the right amount of fat to coat everything in a good way. Pork was tender and the egg was stellar. Great lunch!

We just got finished working and my husband and I were hungry but didn’t know really what to eat so we just looked on Google maps and saw this place was open till 10 which was perfect since it was after 8pm after we got done packing up our booth. I had the Zesson with a whole ski egg, pork belly, and a dumpling. My husband had the curry with two dumplings and ham. Everything was so good!! We tried each others and agreed it was delicious!

The Zessan ramen was good, but you have to pay extra for one piece of shrimp/meat and I didn’t realize it didn’t come with egg. The pozole ramen taste like water with a little bit of seasoning, it didn’t taste like authentic Mexican pozole. The customer service was okay.
Overall, it was pretty expensive and not worth the price. I would suggest trying another ramen spot like Ginza or Sapporo instead.

TLDR: ordered burger and chewed on a small sharp object. Extremely salty ramen. Overpriced for mid food. Won’t order from them again.
I don’t really give online food reviews, but I had to this time. I love Japanese food as much as the next person, but not really from this restaurant. The first food I ordered from them was ramen. It was one of the saltiest ramen I’ve ever had, to the point where I couldn’t really finish it. Today was my second time ordering from them and I got the Katsu Sando XL. The burger tasted nice up until I chewed on something unexpected. When I eat a burger, I don’t except to chew on something hard. But I did. When I took it out, it turned out to be a small object with sharp corners. This really surprised me. I tried calling them from their website but all I heard back was “Sorry. This number is currently not in service. Please try again”. If someone else ate this burger, there would’ve been serious consequences.
Would not order from here again.

Great ramen! Rich flavor, fresh noodles. The eggs and pork belly were great. Identical to the ramen I had in Japan but with a much nicer atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Met some friends here for dinner. They never had ramen before, so we decided to meet here. I live in Ann Arbor and have had ramen several places near my town and Detroit, and I make it at home. We were greeted when we walked in. The staff was so kind and helpful. One of the guys working his name was Austin, I took all of his recommendations on what to order. I wanted to eat it as if he were making it for himself. I was very happy with the full of flavor bowl of ramen. You definitely get alot of food for $15. I could not finish and had leftovers. The fries were so crunchy and so seasoned. I enjoyed it. My friends and I got there at 9pm and they close at 10. Austin said to take our time and not to rush as he knew the drive I just made to have this dinner experience with my friends whom I haven’t seen in over a year. The staff was very kind.
The atmosphere was nice. The setup is open and welcoming. If I have only one thing to say was the floor was a bit sticky. But other then that it was a great experience by all of us.

Excellent service! Food was delicious. My kids have been asking for ramen for while so we found this place on google. The girl who took our order was very helpful and patient while we ordered food and boba for 6 people with lots of alterations because of the kids preferences. Dumplings and ramen were delicious. Banana mallow, sonrisa and the island boba are great choices. Definitely recommend!

Was extremely disappointed at this place. The food looked amazing in photos and in person but flavor is so gross the worst part the noodles were under cooked regular speghetti noodles from an Italian dish not ramen or soba style.
Key take aways it’s ala carte, over priced, and bland.
