I’m happy we found this place, and I think it could become a staple spot for us, but there are some major shortcomings that need to be addressed.
First off, the food was fantastic. Bursting with flavor and exactly what you’d hope for from a noodles and dumplings place. Aside from the soup dumplings sticking to the basket and breaking open, I really have no complaints about the food.
The biggest issue is the service. We first tried coming a few weeks earlier and waited in line for 35 minutes without anyone speaking to us. Six people, including us, walked out that night. We came back recently and were seated, but there was still a massive line out the door because tables weren’t being cleared or people seated efficiently.
There also wasn’t really a server, so we couldn’t ask questions or get drink refills or anything you’d normally expect when dining in. We visibly saw at least ten people walk out after standing in line for over 30 minutes without being spoken to.
The service issues continued after we finished eating. We then stood in line another 15 minutes just to pay.
They clearly need more staff and a better service flow. Once they get that dialed in, this place could be fantastic.

Only 4 stars because the menu isn’t very clear about what you’re getting when you order noodles. You have no idea if the noodle dish is in a broth or in a sauce and what type of noodle it is.The food is amazing. ESPECIALLY the noodles. The pan fried buns were a little too onion heavy for me, but they were great otherwise. The manager/server was super friendly. Service was a little slow but it’s because he was running the front by himself. Seriously though, get the noodles. Perfectly chewy with an amazing flavor. We will definitely be back.

We had been searching for a place in UT with great soup dumplings, and we’re so happy to have found Noodle and Dumpling! The food was very tasty, and the condiments/sauces were delicious as well. We went during late lunch and there was no wait, although there were still tables that were plenty full (a good sign). The restaurant was clean and the servers were helpful. We will be coming back to try more dishes!

I have eaten dumplings in SF and Hong Kong and these ones were THE BEST. Portions were super generous, every dumpling was filled with perfectly seasoned filling and the homemade dumpling sauce was to die for. The char siu bao was epic—not too sweet not too savory, pillow soft steamed bun. And the chicken fried rice was even better than my favorite fried rice in LA Chinatown. Rivals din tai dung. Maybe even better!!!? Very reasonable prices and super fun with the ramune for the kids and stickers too. Super friendly server. So nice to the kids. Prompt and friendly service. This will be our new go-to place.

The “Bruce Lee” of noodles! Came to SLC for a vacation and found this Chinese restaurant near our hotel. What an incredible find! Currently living in CA, there are many good Asian restaurants, but I was not expecting for it to be this good in Utah. Really authentic flavors and easily one of the best places I’ve been to in the USA. The XLBs were done well and the dumpling “skin” was not too thick. The紅油抄手 were different than expected but I was not disappointed and were still “wontons in chili oil” as described. The knife sliced noodles in tomato sauce is not a dish I have seen in restaurants before, but is really an authentic homestyle dish worth trying. The braised beef noodles were amazing! We didn’t have to wait long for our food as we went early (~5p), but there was only one server for the entire restaurant and appeared to be getting backed up by the time we left. We went during Christmas holiday (23rd), so it may have just been understaffed. The neon signs indoors were also a little too bright and distracting for me personally where I was sitting. No pictures of the actual food (only empty dishes). I hadn’t planned on reviewing, but the food was too good to not leave a review. Highly recommend and I look forward to coming back whenever I’m in the area!

Honestly, I was ready to deduct a star from this review due to the rude service. Our server didn’t have the kindest attitude. However, they earned the star back simply by serving such good food! Each dish tasted very authentic. Everything was made fresh but didn’t take too long to come out. The soup/broth of the braised pork noodle dish was bursting with a unique savory flavor. The green beans were on the saltier side. The dish came with a side of rice to ease the saltiness. The green beans were nicely fried – had a good crisp without being burnt or soggy. The chocolate “soup” dumplings were yummy and a great dessert choice. Please know that they are VERY CHOCOLATEY! One bite felt like being hit with 10 chocolate bars at the same time. That’s not a bad thing; it’s just the chocolate flavor is definitely there and heavy haha It’s semi sweet chocolate so a bit dark. My leek delicacy dumplings were super good and soft! Before ordering them, I asked our server what is in them other than leek. She did not mention any meat, but there is definitely meat in it; I think pork and shrimp. I didn’t mind but that wasn’t mentioned at all which would’ve been bad for vegetarians. Overall, the taste of all the dishes were great and authentic. I’d return despite the lack of kind service. The place is nicely decorated! fun vibes. Also, the sauces they had at each table were sooo good. Complimented all the dishes well. Great chili oil and dumpling sauce! I recommend mixing chili oil, dumpling sauce, soy sauce and a tiny bit of vinegar together to make a great dipping sauce.

First time visiting here, wanted some soup and found this little hole in the wall on google. The Chinese Pho was delicious! Same with the soup dumplings as well! The staff was friendly (one of them even came by and handed customers a free sticker which I thought was cute). The decor is so adorable! Fits the aesthetic well! Loved everything about it here, will be returning soon!

Legit dumpling spot with vinegar and chili oil already on the tables. Casual vibe, friendly service. We enjoyed the steamed pork soup dumplings that were so flavorful I burned my tongue and I almost didn’t want to add sauces. Beef soup bowl was great, springy noodles and flavorful balanced broth and tender meat. My husband got the kung pao chicken. It was properly spicy and wok-charred. Very affordably priced. If I’m in the area again I’ll definitely come again.

The food was good, the noodles were a nice texture and the pork tasted very good. We got pork and beef with noodles, pan fried dumplings and a steamed bun. The broth on both were very greasy and the buns were very fragrant from onion. Over all the food was good but could be improved. The server seemed to be in a rush even though there were only 2 groups in the shop at the time. The portion sizes are pretty big so we were able to take stuff home. Overall its a nice food place.

I’ve never written a review in the middle of a meal before but this was the best Chinese meal I’ve had outside of California. The pan fried dumplings came out first and the handmade dough was perfectly chewy and crispy. The homemade chili oil was great with the dumplings — there’s a little touch of sichuan peppercorn that works really well. We were already having a great time but then the red braised pork noodles came out and we ascended to heaven. The hand pulled noodles were perfectly cooked (not under or over) and really QQ. The broth was super aromatic and the pork belly was incredibly tender. If I could get an IV drip of the broth, I would. The service was friendly and thoughtful; they gave us a little bowl on the side so we could share the noodles more easily 🙂
Not an incentivized review, just a really really good meal.
