Honest to God, I’m done with this place. One too many awful experiences here. The state of our cheese pizza this evening was a disgrace. Looked like it had been transported here on the windshield and then thrown at my front door, just get a load of the photos. UPDATE: Slice / the restaurant did at least refund the pizza. So I’ve changed the service from 2 to 4 stars. That’s something at least.

While there is no shortage of places to get pizza in Yorktown Heights, I find myself a regular at Nonna’s. Plenty of parking, tables, and outdoor seating. The food is constantly good. I particularly like their salad slice, while others may have salad slices pre made, Nonna’s always makes to order, which ensures a crisp, warm slice of crust topped with fresh salad. It makes all the difference that they take a little extra care.

Tried here on a whim because we were in the area. My daughter said the sauce reminded her of the pizza in her school cafeteria. The cheese was rubbery and artificial tasting. The dough had zero crispiness. I don’t understand any of the good reviews.

Pizza is delicious and so much variety. Plenty of seating and customer service to me is the most important, and this place has excellent customer service! Come by, you won’t be disappointed!

09/24/23 11:28 We stopped in for a quick slice before attending a local wedding. Both service and pizza here is top notch. We had white pizza which had fluffy ricotta on mozzarella. (The best of this style we ever tasted!) Parking is plentiful. Seating is comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Yes, we plan on another visit to your pizzeria.

We ordered in tonight and unfortunately the two dinners that we received had no flavor , ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, no taste whatsoever, and the pasta sauce was thick like paste, the other with shrimp Parm with a side of pasta again no flavor in the sauce. It’s just horrible very disappointed.

I have to say, as a chef I tend to be hard on some places, but then there are places like this that really upset me because it was as if the cook didn’t care at all. I went there yesterday (February 10th) with a friend as we were early for a comedy club that we were going to.

First I will start with the good:

1) The service was great
2) The salad was great
3) The Bread was great
4) The bottled soda was great

That’s it!

Now, I don’t know what their pizza looks like as they didn’t have any displayed, so we decided to order pasta which was a mistake. I ordered linguini with sausage and the rigatoni with eggplant. Now, I am not sure if they actually had a cook there or the cook called out and one of the young guys had to throw these dishes together.

When the food came to us the first thing you noticed was that both dishes were swimming in sauce. You could tell that they just opened a can of pasta sauce and threw it over my dish, the pasta with eggplant which also was swimming in sauce had fresh mozzarella which had a sour taste to it which from my experience happens when people touch the fresh mozzarella with bare hands.

The sausage they used looked like it was the sausage you use for pizza and not for pasta. To their credit, the pasta was cooked correctly, but everything else was a disaster. I am not sure who the owner is, but I would take time to train everyone on how to make simple pasta dishes like these, they were definitely not under staffed as at one time there were 5 of them behind the counter.

Whoever made the dishes should be ashamed of themselves for allowing those dishes to come out of the kitchen that way, the owner should be ashamed to charge a premium price for pasta ($15 & $16) and for it to be that horrible.

With that said, I can now officially and honestly say that this is the worst Italian place I’ve ever eaten at, the worst pasta I’ve ever not only tasted but seen, the worst main course dish I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve had bad before, but never like this. So for me, Nonna’s is a major NO!

Haven’t been here since b4 pandemic. Don’t know if this is a new pizza guy?! WORST pizza I’ve ever eaten! I ended up throwing it in garbage. Should have brought it back, but it was pouring. He just put it in oven & it was soggy & EXTREMELY oily. Dripped all over my coat & pocket book. Nonna in Wappingers is MUCH better. Shameful!!
