Social Profile:

Italian cuisine, as authentic as we can make it by using great ingredients and staying true to Italian technique. Full espresso bar using Lavazza coffee from Italy. In House bakery where we make cannoli shells by hand, tiramisu, and an assortment of cookies, pies, and Italian pastry made with Organic or Italian flour & organic eggs, as is our egg pasta. Our focaccia and sandwich rolls are made fresh every morning and our Saturday Cinnamon rolls are famous around town. Our ACUNTO oven was built by hand in Naples, Italy and fired only with wood. We make our pizza dough and sauce recipes according to the Neapolitan guidelines. If you’re a pasta lover, you need to try our Alfredo, just butter and Parmigiano Reggiano. Delicious!

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Nonna’s Osteria, and it was an unforgettable experience. We visited during their Valentine’s Day special and were treated to an exquisite 6-course tasting menu that showcased the chef’s talent and creativity.

The intimate dining room provided the perfect romantic setting, enhanced by live music that added to the ambiance without overwhelming conversation. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for.

The meal began with a sparkling pomegranate drink, followed by a delightful Amuse Bouche of Parmigiano Fritto—a perfect little bite that set the tone for the evening. Each course that followed was exceptional: the Alaska Scallop Gratinate with herbed breadcrumb and Parmigiano Reggiano was beautifully prepared, while the Ricotta Gnocchi with Gorgonzola Dolce Cream featured a rich Italian blue cheese sauce with toasted walnuts that was pure comfort. The Wild Caught Shrimp Busara, served over asparagus bruschetta in a butter and garlic sauce, was perfectly executed, and the Cucumber Insalata provided a refreshing palate cleanser before dessert.

The finale, Gelato Tartufo atop Torte Caprese with Chocolate Cremieux and Raspberry was a showstopper. The truffle-shaped ice cream paired with flourless chocolate cake and velvety custard was the perfect ending to an amazing meal.

What truly elevated the experience was the owner/chef taking time to come out and speak with us personally. Those thoughtful touches made us feel genuinely special and welcomed.

I highly recommend Nonna’s Osteria for any occasion, whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an outstanding Italian meal. They offer a full menu along with coffee, wine, and beer selections. This is a gem that deserves your attention.

The food, staff, and atmosphere were incredible! The pasta and pizza we ordered were phenomenal. Additionally, the desserts (carrot cake cupcake and tiramisu) were beautifully plated. Mary’s cookies were equally as delicious and made for a great take out dessert option! Will recommend to our family and friends!

Went here last night for the Valentine’s pre fixe menu. It was outstanding. From the time we entered to the very end, it was spot on. The food was delicious, the service was nice, prompt, and helpful. There was a little error when a server took my plate (I was finished) of shrimp but didn’t ask if I wanted it boxed. I commented on it not expecting anything, but they brought me another servering all boxed up for the next day. As a former chef, I’d give this quaint little rest 10 stars if I could. Did I mention the food?! 😉

One of the best places I have ever eaten. GF noodles were SO good, and with real Alfredo sauce (i.e. butter and cheese. No flour). Loved my meal. Definitely will be back.

Nonna’s is one of the few restaurants I frequent. Living in Anchorage, it is WELL worth the drive for the food and service.

Classic Italian dishes include Roman pizza, carbonara, all’amatriciana, and Alfredo made the right way. It’s as good as the food I had in Italy.

The desserts are out of this world. From tiramisu to cannolis, the Italian treats are mind blowing.

Breakfast/brunch/lunch foods are a must. The sandwiches made on their house made focaccia are to die for.

Service is amazing, headed up by Mallory.

I just can’t say enough good things.

Food was excellent, better than what we had in Rome, Italy. Their lunch menu is fantastic, will be back for their dinner pastas next. Sierra was a great server, very helpful for us tourists, discussed with us places to see around Denali and Wasilla. Highly recommend for an authentic Italian eating experience. When in Wasilla!

This is definitely the most authentic and best Italian food in the valley! The handmade noodles and quality of their dishes shows and everybody should give these folks a try! Their menu is a nice size and they focus more on the quality of what they serve I think then the overall quantity which I always really appreciate. It can be a little expensive but hey all good food is.

I was in here last week for dinner with my husband. We were shocked by how friendly everyone was! Megan was our main server, but Mary was next to her section and I swear we must have paid for dinner and a show. Those two, and Mallory were just hilarious.
Authentic Italian and a joy filled atmosphere!? Yes Please.
PS. Get the mushroom pasta(I forget the name) it might just change your life.

Worth the drive to Wasilla. The pastas texture is on point and the staff know what they’re talking about. Just go and thank me later.

We went here for dinner (take out) on Friday. This is definitely the best Italian restaurant in Alaska. The staff was incredibly friendly the restaurant is cozy and reminds me of a small shop you’d find in Europe somewhere…they make their own pasta from scratch every day. I got the Carbinara and my wife got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Both were the best we’ve had in our life. For dessert we split a tirramisu, again best I’ve ever had.
So the next day we decided to try them for lunch and got “the cure” sandwich and the meatball sandwich…just insane, next level. We also got a sausage pizza to take over to some friends, it was a big hit, everyone loved it.
If your in wasilla/palmer/big lake, and you want an amazing treat, try Nonna’s.
