Now for what truly ruined the experience: right above the coloring pages and crayons (clearly meant for kids) were distasteful photos of half-naked women hanging on the wall. I found this absolutely disgusting and completely inappropriate for a place that’s supposed to be family-friendly!? Nobody wants to sit and look at nasty, inappropriate photos while trying to enjoy their food, especially if they have children with them. It completely kills the atmosphere. Please take them down.
The pizza itself was delicious—definitely five stars for flavor. We tried the sausage pizza and the mushroom pizza, and both were excellent. However, it was an extra $4 just to add a few pieces of pepperoni, which felt overpriced. So pass on that. Our total came to about $43 for two pizzas.
I’d come back for the pizza, but the environment really needs to change.
We did some “pull ups for pizza” and nearly made it – earned some AMAZING ice cream. You gotta get the coffee & marionberry sorbet. Hands down.
We will be back, highly recommend. Great pizza shop in Vancouver city!
The owner is the nicest person that clearly has so much passion for what he does. They buy local, support local art, and are just plain good people that also happen to make the best pizza I’ve ever had (and DONT sleep on the ice cream!!!). If you’re cool, you’ll do yourself a favor and support these amazing people
& for anyone complaining about price- the happy hour margh is my favorite thing on the menu
I believe a tomato pie is the true test of a quality marinara / pizza sauce and Novano passes the test. They don’t miss on the Parmesan either, which is critical.
Bonus points: Crayons and coloring sheets for kids and adults (it’s fun). Low key vibe, definitely kid friendly. Diapers in the bathroom in case you need them, too.
FYI: Nonavo had been on my list to try for years. It was one listed in a “Best Pizza in Vancouver” a newspaper published some years ago. I disagreed with that list and set about making my own. Nonavo was the last one I had yet to try. I had mistakenly thought it was a different joint and was putting it off. I wish I hadn’t because it’s excellent. I’ve moved Nonvavo from my want-to-try list to my Best Pizza in list. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. -VanPort Insider
Everything here was so fresh, so local, so delicious!
We shared the Arugula Salad with creamy Gorgonzola layering the bottom of the bowl, fresh wild arugula, strawberries, and hazelnuts. Then split the Lamb Pepperoni Pizza. Unreal.
