I usually like to start my reviews with the positives, but this experience deserves honesty. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside, and there’s no outdoor seating, which they really should consider adding. I’m sure many customers would appreciate a cooler, more comfortable option.

Now for what truly ruined the experience: right above the coloring pages and crayons (clearly meant for kids) were distasteful photos of half-naked women hanging on the wall. I found this absolutely disgusting and completely inappropriate for a place that’s supposed to be family-friendly!? Nobody wants to sit and look at nasty, inappropriate photos while trying to enjoy their food, especially if they have children with them. It completely kills the atmosphere. Please take them down.

The pizza itself was delicious—definitely five stars for flavor. We tried the sausage pizza and the mushroom pizza, and both were excellent. However, it was an extra $4 just to add a few pieces of pepperoni, which felt overpriced. So pass on that. Our total came to about $43 for two pizzas.

I’d come back for the pizza, but the environment really needs to change.

We had an awesome experience from start to finish at the pizza shop. Not only are the pizzas delicious, flavorful and authentically made (& reasonably priced imo) the owner Joey and his staff are awesome. Very east coast vibes – so if you’re too west coast you gotta come correct 😉 You’ll love the pizza, trust me.
We did some “pull ups for pizza” and nearly made it – earned some AMAZING ice cream. You gotta get the coffee & marionberry sorbet. Hands down.
We will be back, highly recommend. Great pizza shop in Vancouver city!

The Burrata pizza is disappointing. The sauce is very watery, and most of it ends up in the plate by the time you try to eat it—you even have to scoop it back onto the pizza with a fork. The cheese is also watery and has a strange texture. When we mentioned it to the staff, they said that’s how it’s supposed to be. The dough is good, but I wouldn’t recommend this pizza.

To anyone that wrote a negative review for this place: ¡GFY!
The owner is the nicest person that clearly has so much passion for what he does. They buy local, support local art, and are just plain good people that also happen to make the best pizza I’ve ever had (and DONT sleep on the ice cream!!!). If you’re cool, you’ll do yourself a favor and support these amazing people
& for anyone complaining about price- the happy hour margh is my favorite thing on the menu

Pizza is awesome here, ice cream too. Definitely didn’t have the experience some of the neg reviews had. Owner is a great guy, fun to talk to and great customer service. Highly recommend this pizza spot to anyone in the area or visiting!

This is the best pizza in Vancouver, bar none. Wood fired perfection. I got the tomato pie, which is *the best tomato pie I have ever had*, and my husband got the sausage pizza. I added mushrooms to the tomato pie.

I believe a tomato pie is the true test of a quality marinara / pizza sauce and Novano passes the test. They don’t miss on the Parmesan either, which is critical.

Bonus points: Crayons and coloring sheets for kids and adults (it’s fun). Low key vibe, definitely kid friendly. Diapers in the bathroom in case you need them, too.

I wish it were slightly more crispy. But, it was nothing less than delicious. I was also surprised how fast it was ready from when I sat down. These spots are golden gems. Quick, delicious and convenient. I got the pesto and added pepper flakes and a little olive oil. Love the lemon slices! People are very nice. Type of spot id love to bring a coffee and a laptop. Chill. Homey. And still the old downtown vibes. Will come back for sure!

Wood fired pizza is the focal point, not the atmosphere. This spot has excellent pizza and salad.

Excellent Neapolitan style pies. The vibe is more NYC or London than Vancouver with it’s white paint on exposed brick and very high ceiling. Their oven is legit. At any rate, the pizza is fab. The crust is pretty amazing all by its self. I do wish the pepperoni were smaller though. They’re the size of a half dollar. I prefer the very small type that La Sorrentina serves.

FYI: Nonavo had been on my list to try for years. It was one listed in a “Best Pizza in Vancouver” a newspaper published some years ago. I disagreed with that list and set about making my own. Nonavo was the last one I had yet to try. I had mistakenly thought it was a different joint and was putting it off. I wish I hadn’t because it’s excellent. I’ve moved Nonvavo from my want-to-try list to my Best Pizza in list. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. -VanPort Insider

“That was the best salad I’ve ever had” -my husband

Everything here was so fresh, so local, so delicious!

We shared the Arugula Salad with creamy Gorgonzola layering the bottom of the bowl, fresh wild arugula, strawberries, and hazelnuts. Then split the Lamb Pepperoni Pizza. Unreal.
