Got pizza cravings, looked up the best rated local pizza (I’m from TN), and this food truck popped up. I will admit – I knew it was close to closing time, but I went anyway hoping and praying I will be able to give it a try. Even though they were about to close, the friendly girls still made me a pizza and cheese bread! (Thanks, girls! You deserve a raise!) I’m so grateful they did, because this was some damn good pizza. I tipped them well and went back to my hotel to indulge in this perfectly crispy, cheesy, heavily topped, well flavored deliciousness.

I just fell in love with this pizza, this family and this location!!! I got the fully loaded pizza that was cooked to perfection. Each slice held its own with a crispy crust and perfectly portioned toppings. I was there on thirsty Thursday and enjoyed hot cider by the fire ring while waiting. Very good pizza!! The crust is perfect, the toppings are fresh. The jalapeno breadsticks have the perfect amount of heat. Try the sauces, they’re all good to dip your crust or breadsticks in. Staff was very friendly, we will be coming back. I love that it was all homemade.

So this is the first time that I have tried nomads pizza!! To say the food was good is an understatement! Hands-down, my favorite pizza place! And Patrick, the owner is just a delight to talk to. Don’t sleep on in my opinion the best Pizza in Prineville, I’m not a big pineapple pizza guy, but they do a pineapple and linguica pizza, ah man it’s so good!!!! Randomly ran across Nomad in Prineville last week. The thing that caught my attention was another review that said it was the ‘best pizza in the world!’ I had to check it out and see.
So first, it was a good pizza that I was glad I checked it out. However it was not the best pizza in the world, so go in having realistic expectations.
Let’s start with the crust…that’s the cornerstone of any pizza. It had a couple things I really liked and some others that were problems for me. First, the flavor was quite good with a good tangy sourdough taste. Much of the crust had a slight crisp on the outside and was soft on the inside…I like that!! The two issues I had with the crust were that the middle part of the pie was a tad undercooked under the toppings (more on that in a bit). Additionally I prefer a beefier crust edge that has some more height to it. My preference, but that’s how I like it.
One of the bigger issues with the pie was that it was over cheesed (not a word). Is that possible you ask?? Yep, and it’s the reason there was a wet and undercooked are under the toppings. The cheese was insulating the dough and impacted it ability to cook.
It was a tad bit pricey for the small size, but everyone seems to be sending prices through the roof these days and some of it is justified. One of the photos shows their current pricing, which was up quite a bit from earlier photos.
Somewhat minor and technical stuff, but I say it to let you all know that this is not the world’s best pizza, but it was definitely worth stopping by and I enjoyed the stop.
A couple other things…this is a food cart and that was not that clear to me when I read the other reviews…best to know that as you’ll be outside eating. The food cart pod was awesome and well designed with what looked like lots of other good options for food. It’s a nice place to grab a bite!!
