Gyoza was good, and to be fair, so was the banh mi. Unfortunately the Pho was pretty bad. The noodles absorbed way too much broth (which was pretty disappointing anyway) and turned into a very stodgy mess. The chicken masaman curry was more like a reheated microwave meal. It contained only overcooked onions and peppers, tough chicken breast and a sweet coconut sauce with no spice or flavour. I had to add the red chillies to add any sort of colour or heat.
Overall a pretty disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
We got smoothies, tofu salad rolls, vegetarian pho, and a kids fried rice with chicken. My son loved the fried rice and asked to go back the next day. I will say the rice was fairly oily. Enough to see it collect on the bottom of the plate.
The salad rolls had good presentation and were good. The vegetarian pho was very good and a large portion. I would definitely come here again if I am in the area.
Update: the massaman curry and keowan curry were ok but not great. However, the veggie ramen was very good, especially if you like mushroom broth.
Old place was awesome! Music choices were on point, food was always great and Anna is the best server there!
New place: we are struggling… vibe is off. Music is off, service has slipped – of course all things that will happen when moving an entire restaurant into a new facility with a new layout.
Some of the servers could use some help with basic skills like checking on tables as they pass by them to take orders for another table (witnessed everytime I’ve visited the new place). There is also not a uniform – not even a same color shirt – which is a bit too casual for the style of restaurant. Some servers took so long to return with a side sauce, we had already finished half our meal.
The old restaurant had washable chop sticks, now every table gets silverware wrapped up with wooden chop sticks – meaning regardless of wether they were used, they will now be thrown away – major waste – bring back the tin can will napkins and silverware!!
Recently took the whole family out and they brought food out at different times. Between the first person getting food and the last – it was almost 20 minutes – a HUGE no no in the restaurant biz, you keep food hot till it’s all ready and bring it all out at once – brings me to another issue: no servers help each other with bringing out food – 1 server goes back and forth back and forth and I’m tired just watching them…
Get the avocado bowl, chicken or tofu if you’re vegetarian.
Loaded fries for the table are a MUST! Deserts are great and a few other starters!
Looking forward to the changes they make in their new space!
