Spirit of New Orleans in Denver. Amazing food, friendly & engaging staff. If you can’t tell the authenticity from the vibe, it’s apparent on the menu via staples like etoufee, muffeletta (on true French bread), etc. but what sells me is pasta Monica – my go to outside of crawfish season.

When it’s crawfish season, they fly in shells and add the fixings for a coveted Louisiana meal. Love this place, highly recommend this place.

This place feels like home! The food is delicious and you can tell this is a well known hangout spot for community members!
I also had a chance to try the pineapple upside down cake right out of the oven, and it’s one of the best slices of cake I’ve ever had.

Voodoo Tavern is a great place to go if you’re missing NOLA. The food is great and the atmosphere bring you back to the French Quater.

We love this place so much that when we drive down to Denver this is a place we have to stop.

I had a catfish po-boy and my husband had the sampler platter. It was really good! There was definitely a community feel to the place- there was a game on and when the Saints scored a touchdown they gave out free shots to the patrons.

First visit — great food, but service needs improvement, very disappointing.

We drove 30 minutes to try this restaurant and were excited to check it out. The food was the only highlight of the experience.

Unfortunately, the service and timing took away from the overall experience. When we arrived, there were only two other tables, yet it took about 20 minutes to place our order and another 40 minutes for the food to arrive. After finishing our meal, we had to flag someone down to get our check. (Later this evening my husband ended up getting sick from the Jambalaya).

The restaurant did become busier while we were there, which we understand can slow things down. However, even before the rush the wait times were significant. A table seated after us ended up leaving after waiting over an hour for their food.

We also noticed the owner was present, and it might have helped during the rush if additional support had been provided to the staff instead of sitting and visiting with one table.

We truly enjoyed the food and hope the service issues improve. But until then, we’ll be going elsewhere.

Really loved the vibe of this place, but my stars went down because of the food. I had the catfish and etouffe. The catfish really didn’t have great seasoning on it. Had to mask it with some crystals hot sauce when I got home. The etouffe had lumps of roux throughout, which to mean it was rushed. It had great flavor, but I dont like to bite into a clump of flour. The hurricanes were fire though.

The gumbo was amazing, but let’s be real… the red beans and rice came in and stole the spotlight ⭐️. Everything we ordered was a hit, no misses at all. And don’t even get me started on the pineapple upside-down cake… chef’s kiss
On top of the food being a solid 5/5, the staff was just as great/super welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were happy every step of the way. Great food, great service, great vibes. If your in the area check them out (and order the red beans and rice.. ). ️

Tastes like home! We were looking for an authentic New Orleans meal and this delivered. I could eat the catfish poboy everyday. Red beans and gumbo and okra all hit the mark as well. Great options and taste and portion sizes and value. We’ll be back!
