When searching for places to eat and drink in a new city, I often let my phone be my guide; looking at maps and apps in an effort to discover something new nearby. Walking around in New Orleans, I needed something to eat, and I was craving a good craft beer, which lead me to visit NOLA Taphouse.

This establishment is sports- oriented and every television in the house was tuned to sports when I walked in the door. The interior walls are brick and there is a casual feel and vibe. There is no table service- you need to walk to the bar and order.

NOLA Taphouse didn’t disappoint with its beer selection. There are twenty taps of beer from which to choose, as well as bottles and cans, and a full service bar. For food, they serve things like chicken tenders, burgers, shrimp, grilled chicken sandwiches, and a few others. The prices are low, not just with the food, but with the beer, too.

Speaking of the food, it is rather basic and ordinary, typical bar food. I was quite hungry and didn’t mind, but I recommend overlooking NOLA Taphouse if you want something higher quality. What you get here is the basics, with plenty of beer options to wash it down.

NOLA Taphouse is a casual, laid-back type of place and while it certainly won’t win any awards for best food in the city, its emphasis on sports, simple menu options, and non-pretentious service and clientele quickly won me over. It’s a good choice if you enjoy simple things in an establishment, washed down with an assortment of tasty suds.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn before a cruise and was looking for a spot within walking distance to get a bite to eat and a drink. We found that, but not sure we would return. The reviews mentioned a brisket taco, but when we arrived I guess the taco place no longer exists. So we got a couple beers and a mixed drink and shared a shrimp po boy. The serving size was good, as it was enough to feed me and my husband. They had a custom sauce my husband enjoyed. The shrimp was tasty and I ordered a side of onion rings, which looked homemade and not out of a frozen bag. They were good. I feel like the price was about average for the area and the atmosphere was a small dive bar. One bartender that was quite entertaining and the cook that made sure we were happy.

Just so other people don’t get disappointed in going here like we were, I wanted to share that this bar’s partnership with the Hard Core Barbecue is no longer a thing, so all the pictures of the delicious food are no longer applicable. Instead, there is food equivalent to boxed shrimp or jalapeño poppers from a box that you can get at a store and cook at home, but you pay quite a bit for it.

At the time we went there was one gal that was the only person…so she was the bartender, waitress, and cook for everyone there so you will wait a while for the food. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. The gal was very nice, but you would think they would have at least a person for the front of the house and a cook.

My husband liked his beer. I asked for a Sex on the Beach, but the gal “hadn’t made one in forever” so she mixed up something she was more familiar with. It was ok.

Overall, if you are looking for a hole in the wall bar, this place is great. If you are looking to try yummy New Orleans food…try somewhere else.

I went with some friends to watch a game and the staff was accommodating of our large party. My drink and food came in a timely fashion and it was a nice warm environment to hangout in. There were some others who were also watching the game and we were able to have some fun conversation with them. I got jalapeno poppers which tasted amazing however my friends who got the fries all came to the consensus that they were to salty as they had been over seasoned.

We came here because it was close to the hotel. What a pleasant surprise! The food was amazing and a great assortment of beers. We would be regulars if we lived in New Orleans.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family after traveling from Shreveport, Louisiana, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We ordered over $150 in food, which took a long time to arrive. When it finally did, it didn’t match what we saw in the Google pictures, which was quite misleading.

To make matters worse, my order was missing items, and there was no cheese on my po’boy as requested. When I brought this up to our waitress, instead of addressing the issue, she accused our entire table of being rude and having an attitude. We were simply excited to be there and had been looking forward to this visit for a long time.

Overall, the service was far from polite, and the food quality did not meet our expectations. This was a regrettable choice for our family outing, and I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

By far the worst restaurant to eat in New Orleans!!! Their customer service is absolutely terrible. The guy running the bar barely paid attention to us even when we walked up to the bar and asked for simple things like napkins the food was absolutely disgusting for $50!!!! wasn’t even real shrimp, tasted like it was from the microwave
Would not recommend!!!! They didn’t even have bottled water for us too purchase

A cool spot for an expensive beer. Bartender was attentive, the taphouse was clean and the a/c worked well which provided some relief. Food looked good but we did not eat. Some beers were economical and others were very high priced. $13 a pint is a little steep. Would visit again to try the food.

Went there with family on Thursday night.
We all liked it. Staff were on point and very helpful.
I had the Cajun burger and it was awesome. I had a glass purple haze lager to go with it. Very good with hints of raspberry and wheat.
Family had a variety of things – poboy sandwich, gumbo, jambalaya, red beans and rice.
We all loved the food and were talking about coming back later this weekend.
Forgot pictures because we were all hungry.
