Here’s how I know I was judged, when he came back he asked “what would u like for dinner,” (when he asked the larger table next to us prob 10-12 ppl at that table can I start u off with an appetizer!! )
When my wife did ask about the calamari he said it was ok!!!!! That’s how u sell your food… I hope the chief knows that his waiter says his food is just ok!
Here’s the kicker. I asked if I can switch the crab legs in the surf and turf with the lobster tail that’s on the menu !!! He has to ask ( I completely understand) comes back and said there a higher price tho of $10.00. I’m perfectly ok with that and he walks away. I was very intrigued how my steak was gonna be cooked bc he never asked! Appx 10 min later and after our appetizer came out he came over just to ask that, and didn’t stay longer enough to order another drink. So I had to ask the bus boy for one. He had to disturb my waiter which obviously upset him again.
But anyway the food is filling and delicious
The atmosphere was a little loud with a speaker and the guy singing but manageable,
The drinks where delicious but wish my waiter cared to get me more
As for the food – the lobster bisque tasted great, it had actual lobster chunks which was good – but the soup wasn’t thick enough for a bisque. The seafood oreganta also tasted great, but needed to be baked longer b/c the breadcrumbs were soggy and not crispy. I ordered the lobster pappardelle, it was awful. The amount of lobster in the actual dish was a joke, there was more lobster in the lobster bisque – it was basically just pasta. My husband got the Pork Chop Martini and he did enjoy that. Dessert was the only part of the meal that didn’t have complaints. We both got cappuccino, and he got the tiramisu and I got the creme brulee – at least we ended on a good note. I’m not opposed to trying this restaurant again and ordering something else, but I’m not running back here either.
The waiters were very nice and accommodating. I can’t rave enough about the food. It was absolutely delicious and they give you big portions. It was a little pricey, but definitely worth it. I will be going back for sure!
Our experience at Nola Kitchen and Cocktails was phenomenal! From the first step inside, we were met with a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and were lucky enough to have Joey as our server. His recommendations were spot on, and he truly made our night special with his attentive, friendly service.
The specials transported us straight to Napoli! Every dish felt like a slice of Italy, with flavors that were authentic and portions that were generous. Each course was delicious, from the flavorful appetizers to the mouth-watering mains. Drinks were fantastic, perfectly balanced and complementing the meal beautifully.
Huge thanks to Joey for his expertise and warm hospitality—his suggestions truly brought our dining experience to the next level. Nola is a must-visit spot, and we’ll be back for sure. (Check out the pictures of our amazing meal!)
While my 3 companions said their food was ok, I was absolutely disappointed with my order. I wanted something light so I ordered the Prosciutto Flatbread appetizer for my meal. I thought it would be like every other flatbread I’ve ordered -thin with some cheese arugula and a protein.
However it was a messy pile of too much Arugula, ricotta & prosciutto and you couldn’t even see the flatbread. Our waiter finally came after everyone in my party had finished and asked how the food was. (I had barely touched my plate which didn’t sound any alarms for him) When I told him mine was inedible and I wasn’t happy he said he would talk to his manager. Well he didn’t. When we asked him again he replied “my manager is outside if you want to wait I’ll try to get him”. After being there so long we just paid and got out of there. It wasn’t worth being offered a dessert or even being comped for the meal.
Slow service, subpar food (my husband’s cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe was extremely watery) extremely loud dining room – we will NOT be going back.
Almost forgot – when the waiter was clearing the drink glasses he dropped a wine glass from his tray which landed on my husband between his back and the back of the chair. No broken glass, very little wine spilled on him and it was truly an accident – but just shows the level of service needs to improve.
