The food was pretty good (the brioche bun is really excellent), and the atmosphere was cute. It wasn’t busy when we went on a random weekday at brunch time, and service was pretty quick. They were unfortunately out of croissants, so we got a cranberry orange scone and a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie to split. I’ve definitely had better scones before, and to be honest, this one was a little disappointing (oddly cookie- or cracker-like and dry) although the flavors were good. In general this place was okay, but not as excellent as all the other gluten-free-friendly breakfast places we went on our week-long NYC trip. We ended up paying about $75 for a cookie, a scone, two breakfast sandwiches, and two iced coffees. For the quality and amount of what we got, the price seemed a bit high. Our stop here was certainly not bad, so don’t misunderstand me. This place had pretty good food, good service, and a good atmosphere, and it was great that it was dedicated gluten-free for my Celiac husband’s dietary needs. There just wasn’t anything that made us leave thinking, “Wow! That was phenomenal!” Because we had that experience at every other breakfast stop on our trip, we feel like if you need GF foods in this city, you could do better at one of those places instead.

I thoroughly enjoyed my ham and cheese sandwich and salad, and it was so nice to not have to worry about what was and was not gluten free, as the entire space is dedicated to gluten free space. It was a little pricey, especially for the baked goods as I spent about $40 for a sandwich and the chocolate croissant.

Noglu is a charming little corner cafe on the upper east side. I was slightly horrified by the prices, but these are possibly the first truly uncompromisingly delicious baked goods I’ve had since learning I had celiac disease. Quiche, apple tart, banana cake, all excellent (albeit perhaps slightly on the too-sweet side). The pastry is thin but firm, and very buttery. The cake had a wonderfully crisp yet elastic outside and chunks of banana in its very moist centre.

Rating should really be a 4+.

This cream puff was sooooooo good. And the chocolate croissant was fantastic. I’ve come back every week to try something different.

An amazing gluten free restaurant with tasty food. I thought the avocado toast was the best part. It was flavorful and a nice portion size. The pastries were also delicious. The staff was friendly and kind, and the service was good too. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Wasn’t impressed. Bakery items were mediocre at best. Tart was dry. Mixed Berry sliced cake was also dry. Out of several items. Flies were on the pastries and fruit flies around the indoor tables.

My girlfriend and I had brunch here yesterday. We shared the breakfast platter with corn bread, salmon, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber and cherry tomatoes. I also had a grilled chicken and mozzarella sandwich and we both had a muffin and a cream puff.

Overpriced and the croissants are really terrible. Not worth the $10.50 I paid for the size and flavor. I felt like I was eating cardboard. We ordered 2 matcha lattes and 1 croissant for a total of $26, I lost my money and faith right away from this place.
