First, entering the establishment of a bbq spot when I’m a southern girly, I expect to be greeted or at least given a smile.
I gave the first smile and greeting when ordering. (I get ppl are also awkward but at least try).
The following sides I tried needed to be seasoned, even if they just had a bit of salt:
– Mac and cheese
– green beans (very bland and I even asked the cashier about their flavor before ordering and bless her heart; she said they had a little kick). It was nonexistent. Straight out the can.
– Cole slaw (just needed a bit more salt which I added when I took it home)
– new potatos – no salt on them at all! They LOOK seasoned and just aren’t.
The potato salad was the best side I tried so far when it comes to being seasoned well.
This is a meat joint…I’ve tried the brisket, burnt ends and ribs. The brisket is veryyy tender , falling apart actually but without the barbecue sauce, doesn’t have flavor. The ribs lacked in flavor as well.
And my burnt ends came with bbq sauce on them so they tasted really good. But I want my protein to be good without sauce since bbq has a bunch of sugar in it.
The meat is cooked well…yall just need to season your food pleaaaaee.
I recently ordered from Noble Meats for a day-after-Thanksgiving gathering, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. We had family traveling through the area, and since our home is on the smaller side, cooking for a big group just wasn’t realistic. We decided to give Noble Meats a try—and wow, did they deliver.
We ordered baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and a whole chicken, and *every single item* was outstanding. The ribs were tender, the brisket was perfectly smoked, the pulled pork was full of flavor, and the whole chicken was incredibly juicy. Everyone in the family loved it.
We were actually worried that we had ordered too much food, but there wasn’t much left the next day—which says everything. Thankfully, there *were* a few leftovers, and they were just as delicious when I got to enjoy them again.
I felt compelled to write this because it’s rare to come across a business that impresses you this much. Noble Meats made our gathering easier, better, and absolutely delicious. Thank you for the great food and great service—you’ve definitely earned a loyal customer.
sirloins
ground beef
breakfast sausage(toddler approved, picky toddler)
Hotdogs (toddler approved, and I know what’s in them ☺️)
pork shoulder
and so much more.
better quality and price than going into a grocery store spending 300$ and coming out with essentially one dinner and breakfast for a few days.
worth it!
Pro:
– diverse cuts
– great BBQ sauce
– great sides (amazing baked beans and Mac and cheese)
– great taste
Cons:
– depending on when you eat or how long the meat I sitting, some pieces were a little tuff
– coleslaw needs more mayo
– parking can be difficult on busy times
– price
The owner and staff are wonderful and provide the excellent and friendly service you’d expect in a small-town, southern restaurant.
They have a lot of meats to choose from but we had the pulled pork and the burnt ends. The pulled pork is not eastern NC style, and comes with a thick, sweet sauce. Without the sauce, it was a bit dry, although this may be because we got there right before they closed. The burnt ends are the best I’ve had in the state. For sides, we got red slaw and new potatoes. Both were excellent.
Overall I definitely recommend coming here whenever you’re in the area. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other meats and sides.
