Casual nautical-inspired restaurant on the shores of the Fox River. Join us for mimosas and Bloody Marys on the weekends starting at 11. Weekly specials like $6 burgers and $1 wings. Our kitchen closes at 9PM on weekdays and 8PM Sundays. Restaurant and bar are open until 11PM during the week, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 PM Sundays.

I attended the Mixology Martini class last night and had an absolute blast. The experience was intimate, beautifully curated, and effortlessly elegant. The team was incredibly accommodating. Both I and another guest had dietary restrictions, and they were able to provide substitutions without compromising the experience. The drinks we made were delicious, I will definitely be replicating at home. Hope to attend more classes in the future.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the area! If it’s less than 5 stars then its vastly underrated. The fish fry on Friday in Lent was way better than expected, excellent teriyaki salmon dinner and karaoke entertainment by the locals that were extremely talented! We had a great first visit here! The hot buttered rum welcome drink was delicious. The speakeasy added such a cool touch, especially with the festive holiday vibe. There were lots of cute photo ops set up throughout, which made the experience even more fun. Service was great- very friendly.

My family and I had reservations for the pop up. Definitely loved the welcome drinks. Everything was so beautiful and the food tasted amazing. They had several cocktails on the menu to choose from, which all looked super tasty! Makayla was our server and made sure we had a great experience. Her energy was above and beyond! Great service! Great experience! Definitely will be back!

Fish Fry Friday was a bit of a disappointment only because they ran out of Cole slaw, but there was a large holiday party. Server worked very hard! Very nice staff. Looking forward to returning in summer to take advantage of the water views.

I stopped in for lunch today and ordered the Southwest Burger with wings as an appetizer, and everything was absolutely fantastic. The wings came out hot, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside while still juicy inside. The Southwest Burger was packed with flavor and cooked exactly how I like it, with the right balance of spice and freshness.
On top of that, the atmosphere was spot on—comfortable, welcoming, and perfect for a mid-day meal. The service was excellent as well; attentive without being overbearing and very friendly from start to finish.
Overall, it was one of the best lunch experiences I’ve had in a while. Great food, great service, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to!

We had the best time visiting Captain Santa’s Pop-Up Bar in Port Barrington. The entire space is transformed into 4,000+ sq ft of immersive Christmas décor, and every single room is so detailed and festive. It truly feels like stepping into a holiday movie – twinkling lights, themed rooms, riverfront views, and fun surprises around every corner.
The food and drinks were incredible. Their seasonal cocktails, mocktails, and sharable holiday bites were beautifully presented and delicious. You can tell a lot of thought went into the menu, and it really elevates the whole experience.
I also love that it’s family-friendly until 8PM, so we were able to bring the kids to explore all the décor and take photos before the space transitions into a 21+ holiday bar at night. Between Santa’s Secret Speakeasy, the Game Lounge, and the photo ops everywhere you turn, there is truly something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a unique holiday outing in the northwest suburbs, Captain Santa’s Pop-Up Bar is a must-do. We can’t wait to come back next year!

Went there with the family for fish fry night the place was crowded but got seated immediately. The service was outstanding and the food was even better. The portions were extremely generous. The new ownership has noticeably put a lot of hard work into the establishment and have made it a very welcoming all around family friendly establishment, something the lower river has needed. I highly recommend this place you will not be disappointed.
The new owners heard it was my daughter’s birthday recently and even brought out a special dessert and sang for her! We will definitely be back!!!!

Michaela our server was wonderful! Rosie the chef made sure my daughter (who is allergic to dairy) ate safe. The food was amazing!! We will be coming back I. The summer. We were at the Captain Santa pop up which is sooo cute also!
