Housed in the LINE DC hotel, No Goodbyes is an all-day neighborhood hangout that taps the farmers, fishers, and small-time ranchers in DC’s own backyard—The Chesapeake Bay—to create an eclectic mix of feel-good dishes morning, noon, and night.
Choose-your-own-way-to-dine from several distinct menus and spaces (a restaurant, bar, communal lounge, and counter-service coffee shop and café), so no matter what time of day it is, there really is no need to say goodbye.

I loved brothers and sisters when they occupied the space and I’m a fan of No Goodbyes! Stopped by for dinner mid-week and it was perfect. Not overly busy but also a good amount of people dining. Another staple to add into my DC roller deck. We tried various apps, ordered cocktails and indulged in dinner. And the playlist is chefs kiss!

Stopped in for brunch on Saturday. Vanilla Oat milk latte was excellent. We had the American Omelette, Challah bread French Toast, and Wake Up Call Breakfast. Everything was great, the side-sauces were also very good. Would dine in again.
The atmosphere is good but lacks natural light; definitely retained the old church feel. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

We sat at the bar for a late diner and the bar service was awesome. All our food was pretty good but the menu was quit limited. The atmosphere is great and we would absolutely recommend eating here if you get the chance.

Inside the Line Hotel in Adams Morgan is a little coffee shop called No Goodbyes. Stopping in on a Friday morning around 9:15 a.m., there was a long line, but it moved quickly.
They sell an array of pastries and coffee drinks, but I opted for the sweet cheese danish and a cardamom latte. The danish was very moist and tasty. The latte was well made and creamy!
Service was efficient and there are plenty of places to sit inside the hotel lobby.

Probably the best dinner I’ve had since returning to the area last summer. Our group of 4 had an absolutely spectacular meal from start to finish.
We started with one of the punch bowls. We were out of luck with the Lucky Punch, they ran out of a key ingredient but the Two Roads was quite good as a consolation. I separately enjoyed the Trail Mixer, a delicious blend of rye, peanut orgeat, and cream sherry.
The food was epic. We enjoyed the crab chips, hush doggies, wedge salad, and the Maryland crab rice. All were very tasty but the standout was the crab rice.
For our mains, the pork chop and the pasta were indulgent. The hoppin’ John left a little to the imagination but was a fine accompaniment. But the standout side was the corn bread, absolutely the best I think I’ve had.
We sampled all the deserts; the tres leches, the sundae, ice cream and everything was perfect. Really creative presentations too.
Service was solid, Jeff took good care of us. And the hostess (name started with a K, that’s all I recall!) was very friendly and funny too. Great vibe.

Went for brunch and it was underwhelming. We started with the fluffy mimosas and a drip coffee; it took a very long time to get the drinks compared to how many people we saw inside. Server forgot the drip coffee and it arrived after the cocktails. Sadly, the fluffy mimosas were not good. We each ordered one, and at first they were delivered to the wrong table, but when we did get them we noticed they looked very different from one another. They tasted very bitter and not of anything bubbly. We told the server they were not good and asked for a regular mimosa. The server went to the bar, got a straw, and then asked to taste the drink we had already sipped from. Server then looked at us and said “well if you don’t like it.” Being gaslit at brunch was not on my bingo card for the day. We did get the normal mimosas, which were deliciously bubbly and as you’d expect. For food we got the deviled eggs, fruit, pastry assortment and shared a bagel. Bagel was pretty good, but I think CYM is better. Pastry assortment means one blueberry muffin, coffee cake slice and a croissant. All very good. Fruit was a LOT of blueberries, strawberries and one very tart green apple. Good. But the deviled eggs, I love an egg but this was probably the worst I’ve ever had. If you like vinegar you’ll love it, but not to my taste. For a Sunday late morning it didn’t seem like they had enough staff. It was hard to flag anyone down for anything. Hostess was lovely to chat with and the building itself was beautiful, but I would not recommend for anything more than coffee and a pastry.

Nothing against this place but I don’t understand how this made the Eater DC list of places you must try. It sets up an expectation then you get there and the food is “good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here.” Overall the sandwiches are tasty and filling portion wise. Prices are reasonable and service is fast. I got the Nashville hot chicken but it wasn’t hot at all, just spicy flavor which was a little disappointing.

I don’t know how it’s possible to mess up the simple equation of chai + milk, but the sluggish, standoffish barista duo managed to do just that. Poor service, and a drink not remotely worth the price tag to match. Cool room, if you can get a seat among people “coworking” (scrolling endlessly) i guess. The only saving grace was a pre-made Rice Krispie treat at the cafe. Again, pricy, but at least i wanted to finish it.

4.5 ⭐️ | Burgers are not my typical go-to but I decided to order the Phil’s Burger at No Goodbyes, and it did not disappoint. I was hesitant that some of the toppings would overpower the others, and surprisingly everything worked perfectly together. The rosemary shoestring fries were also an excellent addition.
Honorable mentions to the bites of brussels sprouts and rigatoni bolognese that I had. Delicious!
Docked half a star because there was a little confusion with the host team about available seating options when we arrived. Once seated, the experience with the staff was great.

One star is a benefit No Goodbyes does not deserve. I am not sure I have ever had a more disappointing restaurant experience than I did this morning. Even if I could pass on the drinks taking 45 minutes to arrive (the food landed before the drinks even though we ordered food after cocktails), I have never seen a restaurant deliver 3 of 4 meals, 30+ minutes after we ordered, and tell one person that they ran out of their meal and would they like something new. I can understand that a menu item would run out, but waiting until 3 of the items had landed to then ask for a replacement is completely inappropriate. By that time, my “poached” eggs were hard boiled and cold, and the texture was rubbery and, frankly, disgusting. When we were discussing amongst our table of 4 how long the drinks were taking, the bartender interjected from a distance that she was working solo. Apparently a bloody mary, a green juice delivered in the manufacturer’s bottle and 2 pre-batched cocktails takes 45 minutes. I wish I had infinite space to express my disappointment, but, in short: the food was poor, the service was worse and I would NEVER recommend this spot to anybody.
