The wings and brisket were really good. The ribs were fine, its a matter of preference. Sweet potato casserole was surprisingly good. Mac and cheese needs some help though.

Went there tonight my food came out cold. I told the waitress she took my plate and said she would make it right. That she did my ribs were hot and good as well as the sides. She kept our drinks full service was top notch. All staff were polite and helpful. Food quality it’s really good tonight ribs were half off prices were more than reasonable. This is my 3rd time going my wife and I give this place a 5 star rating. Definitely will repeat . This place reminds me of down South BBQ and awesome service.

Left before we got our food. Waited way too long to get it. When we finally decided to leave, we were then informed a fryer was down and order was coming out. Maybe next time they can inform customers. Also the waitress seemed like she hated life, at 50 with a nose ring. Go figure. Just from what I saw the food is over priced. I guess if you’re from Indiana and you don’t cook, you don’t care how service and food is. If you have a lot of time, and don’t mind overpaying for food, then this place would be perfect for you.

My Mom, boyfriend and I really enjoyed the food at 423 Smokehouse in Petersburgh, IN. It was our first time there and the food was delicious.
My Mom got the Diane pulled pork sandwich with homemade chips. The sandwich was huge and I can’t believe she ate all of that. The chips were delicious. She did have a few of those leftover that she sent home with me, because there were a lot. I tried one there and they were good hot and cold.
My boyfriend got the ginormous breaded tenderloin and fries. He always finishes a tenderloin, but that cut off piece was brought home for me to try later and it was really good.
Now to my food choice. I got the pit roasted chicken, dark meat, with baked beans and potato salad. It was delicious. The only issue, and I won’t say complaint, because it was very delicious, but the only issue I have was that chicken leg had about 2 bites on it. And the thigh wasn’t very big either.
My boyfriend said the look on my face was priceless when she set my food in front of me. He said at least you know it’s not pumped full of hormones to make it bigger.
I would definitely order that again, IF the pieces were bigger. The taste was amazing. But the size of the chicken pieces I was given were more like a child-size portion.
My boyfriend bought a The Benjamin pepperoni pizza to take home for our supper. I can’t imagine it being better hot out of the oven, because it was so good eating it cold later. We’re those weirdos who love cold pizza just as much as we love hot pizza. I’m sure it’s really good fresh and hot, because it was so good cold later.
I’m still giving them 5 stars, even though the chicken pieces were small, because everything tasted great. We will definitely eat there again.

Food was cold but came out quick? My water wasn’t filled once , for the price it was mid. 20 dollars for skimpy brisket as well , a sissy eats this.

Pit fired chicken is great. Brisket is cooked perfectly. A bit bland no bark. Spicy BBQ sauce is fire. Corn bread salad was new for me. Served chilled. Domestic beer only. Will definitely be back to try the strombolli.

We ordered off of the menu that was available on their Google page. When do we went to pick it up it was double the price. We paid it and and then call the talk to the manager to make him aware of the price difference because it was so large. Instead of trying to make something a little right, all he did was make excuses. The food there is always good. But It is not right to get blindsided with the price when you get there. It was a drastic difference. Also The manager passed us along to the owner. The owner was the one that made excuses instead of making it right. The manager was Super nice <3

When we moved back to Indiana from Texas in 2018, I brought some BBQ from this establishment and loved it. After a sixteen hour drive from Texas, we felt satisfied with a good BBQ meal. Little did I know how hard it is to find good barbecue in Indiana, unlike Texas. For 5 years I strained my memory on where I had bought that fabulous barbecue, and only in July 2024, out of desperation, scanned every restaurant until I found it once again: the 423 Smokehouse. Oh, what a joy! Happiness! We bought many pounds of brisket, BBQ chicken, ribs, and pulled pork to take home. It’s about an hour drive from our home near Bloomfield, but will make the trek more often now that we have rediscovered this culinary treasure. Waiter Matthew was quite hospitable, as were the other hosts.

Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but we were disappointed with the food. Mozzarella sticks were cold in the middle, mac n cheese was dry and tasteless. The main dishes (brisket and loaded potato) were good, but didn’t really stand out. However, I will say the service was excellent. No wait, friendly and very attentive.

I’ve been here before and it was delicious. My problem though is today. I think you guys might need to find a better system. You say you are open online. 10 minutes after we waited 30 minutes for our food we finally get a notification that it was cancelled. Just disappointed with y’all’s systems and the fact we waited all that time and then drove all the way there.
