Our family goes here for birthdays, and this time we celebrated our grandson’s golden birthday on August 21st. I was prepared this time with a summer jacket so I wouldn’t be cold, like I was last time. I decided to try the raspberry chipotle burger with coleslaw and glad I did. I was concerned it might be sweet, but it was just right. I was very full so happy I didn’t order the chips or fries. The burgers are all 6 ounces with a generous bun and fixings, thus you won’t leave hungry.

The food was good. But the service was very poor. There were 3 bartenders on a normal Monday night. I sat at the bar solo and the bartenders seemed to intentionally notice and serve everyone else but me.

Great burgers, specials and drinks. They are like a birthday geared restaurant but it wasn’t anyone’s birthday in our group so I’m not sure what that means. So, try going on your birthday. Interesting atmosphere and spacious, good bar and selections.

I’ve been going to the Gritty off and on for over 40 years. The atmosphere never changes and the food is consistently good if not great. (Dotties down the street has better burgers.) Still, the service is always very good and for a trip down memory lane, this is the place! I like the msc n cheese with BBQ pork. Large serving enough for two.
