But the samosa chaat I received had meat in it. While I was eating, the moment I put a piece in my mouth I immediately felt something was wrong. The taste and texture were clearly different. I asked my friend to look at it and she told me it was meat. I felt extremely disgusted and disturbed realizing that I had just put meat in my mouth because of this mistake.
This is completely unacceptable and honestly shocking. Serving meat in a dish that is clearly vegetarian shows a serious lack of care and responsibility when preparing orders. Mistakes like this are not small, especially for people who strictly avoid meat. I am extremely upset about this situation
Two were completely empty, and one had a hair inside.
That’s not just disappointing — it’s a serious hygiene issue.
Very concerning and honestly unacceptable.
Disappointing Experience — Poor Food Quality Overshadows All
Food Quality – Severely Lacking
Stopped by Nirala after a refreshing morning walk, hoping to enjoy a classic Desi breakfast. Unfortunately, what we were served was extremely disappointing. The oil used across all items—poori, bhatura, paratha, and even the jalebi—tasted old, overused, and borderline rancid. The heavy, burnt flavor completely ruined the dishes and made the meal feel greasy and unpleasant. It was clear the frying oil had not been changed in a long time.
⚠️ Consistency in Issues
This wasn’t a one-off problem with a single item. Every dish had the same stale-oil aftertaste, suggesting a larger issue in the kitchen. It raises serious concerns about food safety and attention to hygiene. For a place serving breakfast staples, this is simply unacceptable.
✅ Only Positive – Clean Restroom
The only thing worth mentioning positively was the bathroom—it was surprisingly clean and well-kept, which stood in contrast to the poor food quality. Unfortunately, cleanliness in the restroom doesn’t make up for the compromised food on the plate.
Overall Impression
Despite polite staff and a modest setup, the meal itself was a total miss. Springfield has several Desi spots that serve fresh, flavorful food. Based on this experience, Nirala isn’t among them—at least not right now. I won’t be returning unless they seriously address their kitchen practices, especially how often they change their oil.
While standing there, I noticed a 100 dollar bill on the floor and handed it straight to the staff. No reaction. No smile. Not even a simple thank you. Just blank faces and an energy that made me feel like I didn’t even exist. The whole place felt cold and uninviting.
After waiting about 15 minutes, I finally got my chicken biryani. I went home ready to sit down and enjoy the one moment of peace I had that day. But when I opened the box, my heart just sank. It was basically plain rice with a few bones tossed in and one tiny piece of chicken. I cannot explain how disappointing that felt after the day I had. And the samosa I bought to keep me going was cold too.
This experience wasn’t just bad. It genuinely ruined what little comfort I was hoping for. I will never go back.
