This was my second visit and I am less than satisfied! To start, the oxtails were undercooked. I broke the plastic fork trying to remove the meat. Refer to the video. Paying $22 for oxtail, I expect it to be tender and to be seasoned. The cornbread and the greens were delicious. That increased the star rating to 2.

The cashier was very nice but the food usually is very good. I don’t know what was going on today. I purchased 4 meals & each one had something wrong with it. There was an extremely long wait & the dressing was under cooked, lasagna was awful & cold. The breadstix weren’t cooked, cabbage was bitter, yams too sweet. And they didn’t have any corn muffins.

Came to Visit from New York and loved everything I ordered smothered pork chops, fried chicken & fried fish with baked mac & cheese, red beans and rice with a kool aid.
Babyyyyyy I wasn’t disappointed at allll. That was the best Fried chicken everrrrr, crispy and juicy. That gravy went perfect with the fried pork chop. Let’s just say, it’s been weeks and I’m back home wishing I can blink & be at the front door.

The Fried Chicken is top notch. Also had Fried Okra and mashed potatoes and gravy. You want true Southern Cooking, this is the place.
Recommend TO GO only! There is literally only 2 small tables. If your alone eat there, if not take it home.

This was our family’s first time dining here since DoorDash doesn’t deliver to our area. So we picked a nearby location to give it a shot and BABY, it did not disappoint! We ordered meatloaf dinners, a chicken wing dinner, and a pork chop dinner. The sides were on point: collard greens, homemade mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, candied yams, and fries. Everything came out fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection. My guy was ready for seconds on the meatloaf, but the portions were generous and priced just right. We nearly ate ourselves into a food coma, it tasted like I made it myself. It felt like home. No items were missing. We will definitely have them again, hopefully some smothered steak hits the menu!!!! There isn’t a photo cause we smelled the taste before eating sorry about that 🙂

Very good soul food. It’s always tasty. There isn’t a menu item we haven’t liked. Nice sidewalk patio during the warmer months. The restaurant also partners with Boys & Girls Clubs to place teens into work experience. In addition to their intimate restaurant in Shorewood, they also have a restaurant kiosk and food truck at Summerfest. The smothered chicken snack is glorious. Lovely flavored gravy over crispy chicken wings. The catfish and smothered pork chops are also amazingly flavorful. The collard greens are perfectly seasoned. The meat liaf is out of this world. You can’t go wrong with their food!

I’m really disappointed with Ninos. This is my third time here and I won’t be back. We walked in and the person at the counter didn’t greet us and he walked in back as soon as we walked in. OK…? There is a self order kiosk so I started my order. There wasn’t a way to choose the chicken baked, smothered, or fried on the kiosk. I rang bell and nobody came. I ordered ribs instead of the fried chicken. Two ladies walked in and they rang the bell. Nobody came. They yelled for someone and nobody came. A 4th person walked in to pick up order. He rang the bell. Nobody came. At that point, I called the restaurant and told the person that answered that there are 3 groups in the lobby and we need help. No apologies when he came up front. We’re sitting in the lobby waiting for our food. The TV is blaring so loud that I can’t hear the guy say that the green beans are a 45 minute wait and I have pick a new side. I go to the counter to hear him and I choose a new one. He comes out a few minutes later to say the corn is 45 minutes and I have to pick a 2nd new side. He apologized. Food came out 35 minutes after I ordered. I saw 3 people working so where were they when we were ringing the bell and people were literally yelling in the back for service? I find a 4% admin service fee on the receipt. Great. I get home and the $19 baked chicken was 3 wings and 1 thigh. No breast? The lasagna was hard and the ribs were like beef jerky. This stuff was old. I spent $66 for a terrible experience and we threw out half of the meal. Never again Ninos.

Man…let me tell you…in town for an event with my daughter and this was one of the best experiences ive had with soul food. Smothered 2 PC Pork Chop dinner was phenomenal and portion size was perfect. Looking forward to coming back when im in town. Everything tasted amazing and flavor through the roof!!!
