We have been going to this restaurant since the day it opened. They had some stumbles out of the gate but seemed to be getting it together. Lately their performance has hit an all time low. The sushi has always been great, but the lack of organization, managerial leadership and basic restaurant service has been in steady decline. It’s clear they no longer have a manager and tonight was the worst.
There was no sense of organization and the wait staff was running around frantically in a panic. They also have never had a bartender, so ordering anything but a Busch Light has always been problematic.
Our dining experience began by trying to order a cocktail, but no one seemed to know how to make a simple martini. After a long wait, we canceled the drink order. Next, we ordered seaweed salad but it had not arrived when our sushi showed up. Canceled the salad.
The next disappointment was no fatty tuna available. Okay, but when the bill arrived it included the fatty tuna. I ran out of water half way through the meal and my glass was never refilled. Even after the bill arrived. Our server offered apologies, but also lots of excuses.
Tonight was the straw that broke the camel’s back and I have reached my end with this place. What could be a thriving restaurant with good food and great atmosphere is nothing more than a wanna-be restaurant that has no direction, no leadership, no organization, and lousy service. You should avoid this disaster.

The food at Ninki is incomparable to any other Japanese Restaurant in Owensboro.
THe fish is fresh, and the hibachi chefs are great. The staff is also very attentive. Ninki also has a full service bar with the best drink prices in town. Will be frequenting this establishment more often!

II Order the diner for two with three items for my girlfriend and I, it was 40bucks . My buddy order the dinner for one. Our party had three people in it. The party across from us order a dinner for two between six people they spent $ thirty bucks. When the cook came out he cooked all our food at the same time. Then splitting out the food into equal amounts. The problem is our party of three paid 60bucks, and the party of six paid 30bucks. Then we all got equal amounts. Glad i paid for other people to eat on my bill. So if you feel like paying for someone else to eat. Go for it. We hardly had any food on our plates because of the split. If we didn’t have the spicy tuna rolls we would have left hungry. It was just really sad to see the split of food on or plate. Even tho we paid more we got less. feed yourself and not others. I’m not a charity fund for random kids. When speaking to the manger he couldn’t care less. An treated us as if we was trash for not wanting for pay for other people to eat. The End.
