Salad: house salad was great and very refreshing. The veggies are crisp, cold and delicious and the dressing has the right amount of ginger in it. The avocado house salad is the same as the house salad with avocado slices on top. My only suggestion would be to cut the lettuce in more reasonable sized chunks. It was nearly impossible to eat it with chop sticks and not get it all over your face.
Shrimp: The shrimp tempura really needs a sauce with it. It is very dry and more breading than shrimp. The coconut shrimp is really good. Has plenty of sauce to shrimp ratio.
Chicken: tatsuka age – extra crispy but not overly breaded. The sauce has a sweet taste to it; teriyaki chicken – really good, love the sauce; Chicken Katsu – love the crispy chicken and the seasonings on it. The sauce I was. It a fan of. Reminded me of ketchup and BBQ sauce mixed together. I like the teriyaki sauce or the yakitori sauce ; yakitori chicken – served on a skewer. Alternating between chicken and onion. The sauce is honey based I think and was very good!
Tuna: tataki – one of my favorite things we tried. The tuna is served cold, with a hot sauce of some kind on it. We thought it tasted kike Siracha sauce. They more you are the spicier it would get; peppered tuna – amazing! Swedd with fish eggs on top and a cucumber salad on the bottom. The salad added a nice gentle sweetness. The tuna melted in your mouth. They buy quality tuna for sure!
Hibachi: we tried the steak and chicken. It had a nice flavor on the protein but it was too salty. The rice was seasoned just right and was a good amount. The veggies were both good and horrible. Some of the zucchini was so overcooked you could barely pick it up with the chop sticks. But the zucchini that was cooked well was delicious. As were the carrots and onions.
Dessert : tempura fried green tea ice cream was not great. The tempura was barely cooked and had a wet texture and hardly any flavor. The chocolate sauce was weird with the green tea ice cream; fried cheesecake was great. The tempura could have been cooked longer to get a better crispy texture, but paired with vanilla ice cream it was a good dessert
For All you can eat, it’s definitely worth it!
4/2025: Came back to Virginia and had to visit this place again. You cannot go wrong here, it is so good. I tried Squid and it’s the best by far from any other places I have been. It was actually really tasty.
2024: First time there and it was really good. All you can eat; order off menu versus a buffet. I definitely recommend to try it if you are in the area. Before I go back to Michigan, I will be back!
Good food and big portion sizes. Tons of stuff to choose from!
