I was searching the ko’olou location and it looked pretty good. Ended up in Kailua so I just ordered here instead. The lady working was very helpful and nice. As soon as I saw my order it looked nothing like a pictures I found online. I couldn’t finish it so I ended up throwing half of my roll in the trash unfortunately. I hate wasting food but I couldnt even force myself to finish it. Not good quality sushi at all.

Ninja sushi is great, this location was pretty spot on. Our favorite is the superman maki. The spicy ahi was a bit disappointing, it was like they chopped it up a bit too much. Overall the food is good and the service is quick and friendly.

Stop here and you will not be disappointed! Wonderful atmosphere and service, the sushi is delicious, fresh, and priced right. Picture is #8 Yummy Yummy roll and it is that! I had some toro sake nigiri and it was to die for…I’ll make sure to stop here every time I’m in the area.

The sushi rolls are huge. Had to cut them in half to fit into my mouth. It was good though. You have to ask for any side items otherwise they are not included; such as Wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, etc. 7 sushi rolls cost $60.00.

Their fish is not of the best quality but what makes it even worse is their customer service. One time I went there (I’m a local Hawaiian guy), the cashier told me to wait outside after I placed my order and normally, I would have been okay with that. However, a customer came in after me who was a Caucasian female who was with her two children, and I watched her order and then I saw that the cashier did not tell her to wait outside for her order, but me and my two children had to. She patiently waited inside the comfortable air conditioned restaurant while my children and I waited outside in the blazing heat. Is it because I’m Hawaiian? What finally made me post a review is what happened tonight. I ordered a bunch of stuff and then when I got the total, I took out the necessary amount of money but called my son to have him count it out for the lady (he’s 9 years old). The total was $47.03 so my son gave her $48.00. She took the money, grabbed the change from the register, then looked at my son and without anyone telling her to do so, she put the change in her tip jar. My intention was to give my son the change for a reward for counting out the right amount of money but she decided for herself to keep the money. When I asked for the change for my son I received attitude like I was supposed to give her that tip. She felt entitled to that tip. I will never go back to Ninja Sushi in Kailua again!

Not typical sushi, you are expecting. If you order a tuna roll. It’s cooked tuna fish with mayonnaise rolled up in rice and nori paper. The meat was like something you would put in a tunafish sandwich. Same for spicy tuna roll, except it’s a little spicy, obviously. Definitely not a tradition “tuna roll.” Some of the other “sushi” products were just ok.

Small local place. It would have been much better if the tables were cleaned a little and the service was more welcoming. We actually have been there few times before we started to look for another sushi place. We like giving restaurants few chances but we run into the same problems very time we are there. Cleanliness and missing items we ordered…

Update: during covid lots of places were closed but ninja stayed open. Take out quality seemed better than when we sat down to eat.
