Every day we continue a wonderful tradition by serving you and your family with the same affection and quality that our founder, Ninfa Rodriguez Laurenzo, established in 1973. Known to everyone as Mama, her legacy began in a small 10-table restaurant on Navigation, in Houston. Using her own pots and pans, she created this world-renowned tradition of serving great food and delicious Margaritas. Mama Ninfa left us a legacy that is about more than just wonderful food – she taught us to embrace everyone around us as family. Through her actions she showed just how much one person can do in this world, and how each of us can touch the lives of so many people. We at Ninfa’s pledge to continue the established tradition set by our Founder.
This lively, venerable option for cocktails & Mexican dishes features high ceilings & a cool vibe.

through town and I’m glad I did.
The service was amazing since you open the door.
The food was super fresh and tasty. I highly recommend the carne Guisada plate, it is very authentic and can be spicy if you like.
The drinks were on point and the place ambient very comfortable.
I for sure will come back again!
This past weekend I went to Ninfas, a “Mexican” restaurant in Downtown Waco, Texas.
I went with absolutely no expectations, since I try to be honest in every review I write.
But when you go to a restaurant that specializes in a certain type of food, you at least expect them to have exactly that. Mexican Restaurant = Mexican Flavor, right?
Well, if you’re expecting authentic Mexican food at this place, you’re not going to find it.
This is a Tex-Mex restaurant, but more Tex than Mexican. lol.
The food was so low quality in my opinion.
I thought the tortillas were Walmart’s Great Value brand, but after getting home I realized that Walmart’s brand was superior, so it’s not Great Value.
I went on a Friday, and although I always expect places to be packed, this place was completely overflowing.
Naturally, there wasn’t a single Latino sitting at any of the tables. I should have known I was in the wrong place.
The employees were constantly rushing around, and the stress was palpable. And that was reflected in the food.
One thing I did notice, though, was that the waitresses were very helpful, and the food came out quickly. Another thing: the food wasn’t that bad, but it’s something I could easily make at home. Store-bought tortillas, meat, and cheese. Nothing special.
I don’t understand the hype surrounding this place, although based on the clientele, I gather it’s not for authentic Mexicans or Latino in general.
There are better places like this in the area. Even Jorge’s felt gourmet compared to Ninfa’s.
Didn’t took picture on this one, no needed.
Would definitely come again! The menu had plenty of great looking options.
We started with a large queso appetizer, which came with fresh, warm flour tortilla chips—absolutely delicious! Then, we had the steak fajitas, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. The tender, perfectly seasoned steak was topped with a rich and flavorful Durango sauce that took it to the next level. The fajitas came sizzling hot, paired with fresh tortillas, grilled veggies, and all the right toppings, making every bite packed with flavor. The chips and salsa were fresh and addicting as well.
Julio went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, checking in at just the right moments and keeping our drinks full. His positive attitude and genuine hospitality truly set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.
If you’re looking for delicious Mexican food with top-notch service, Ninfa’s is the place to go—be sure to ask for Julio! We’ll definitely be coming back.
