Best vegan tahini pie I’ve ever had. We ordered upside down, dessert first, so we would have room, yum. Dolmas was our starter, love the pomegranate seeds. Over the top tasty tenderloin skewer, tender, moist, packed with flavor, perfect as is. Very serviceable Kufta skewer especially with the sauces they supply, love the pickled veggies, (Torshi)! Next time we go, I will order them instead of the roasted veggies. What’s not to love about a salad with dill and mint. Service held up well on Valentines evening, plan to come back when it is less crowded to see them at their absolute best.

Olympia’s finest restaurant these days! Very clever menu, gorgeous plating, fresh ingredients, and delightful staff. Cocktails are also superb. There are a ton delicious vegetarian options. This place would have a line out the door if it were in Seattle or Portland. Thanks Nineveh!

I don’t even know where to begin here – this place is the best restaurant in Oly and maybe Washington. For background, I have loved Middle Eastern food my whole life and my 11 year basically grew up eating in an Afgan restaurant. Nineveh is just simply fantastic and a flavor explosion. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. One of the best meals of my whole life and we will be regulars. Highly recommend and I am a bit of an Olympia food critic. A++++.

Was passing through Olympia and looking for a nice place to grab a meal . Came to Nineveh based on the amazing reviews and happy to say that we were not disappointed. Ordered several appetizers to share the beet/feta was a culinary work of art. The sweet potatoes and carrots were so tasty. My group ordered the duck ( son said it melted in his mouth) Lamb chops cooked expertly. Each dish had so much flavor. The care given to the prep and each dish was thoughtfully prepared . The friendly staff greeted us and even for a Sunday evening there was a steady flow of business but party of 4 only walked around the block for 10 minutes and a table was ready. There is lounge in back 21+ but liked the bright clean interior of the front. Well done we will return on our next trip south! Oh yeah and we had to try the tahini dessert- mixed reviews but I personally thought it was good- different flavor and one was enough for the 4 of us to get a good taste !

You will want to try every single thing on all of their menus. They have 3 unique menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We are big fans of their food truck, so we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed. Atmosphere, food, and staff are top shelf.

The food is delicious and of good quality. The service is friendly and the staff are very attentive. The prices are a bit expensive, and the extras are really pricey. We wanted kebab and they only brought salad with it. If you want flatbread, you have to pay extra. We paid $12 for two small pieces of flatbread. There should be a side dish with the kebabs, or at least flatbread.

First of all, I apologize in advance if I spell the names of the dishes incorrectly — I may not remember their exact names, so please forgive me.
We were simply looking for a brunch spot and found this place through Google Maps recommendations. We generally love Middle Eastern cuisine, so we decided to give it a try.
Overall, it’s an interesting and authentic place with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very kind and welcoming, especially our waitress Molly— she was lovely. Everything we ordered was good, and my husband really enjoyed his meal.
That said, I’m a bit picky when it comes to food, mostly because I’m spoiled by good restaurants and good cuisine in my native country. My kofta, in my opinion, could have been cooked a bit more — it felt slightly on the edge for me. My husband, on the other hand, absolutely loved the kofta burger. We also tried the lahmajeen; for my taste, it could have been better, talking about the texture of the ground meet on a flat brad.
The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I especially loved the deep turquoise color — very beautiful and adds a lot of character. A small but appreciated detail: unlike many places in Olympia, they were generous with napkins, which I honestly thank you for.
I’m giving 4 stars for a few reasons. First, it was a bit chill inside — the AC could be set a little warmer. Second, when you walk in, there is a noticeable smell. It’s not something you really feel while sitting and eating, but it’s there at the entrance. This is not specific to this restaurant — many places in this area have the same issue.
In general, restaurants in Olympia often feel a bit rough around the edges and could be held to a higher standard. This place is definitely better than many others nearby, but not quite a “wow” level for me.
That said, it’s a very nice restaurant, and I would come back. There is room to grow, but overall it’s a solid and enjoyable place.

Nineveh has been serving amazing an Assyrian cuisine around Olympia for years through catering and their food truck. Now they have this amazing restaurant in downtown, which is quickly becoming one of the city’s most popular dining choices. Assyrian food is an ancient cuisine known for its use of grains like wheat and barley, and meat, yogurt, and dairy products. Think kebabs, flatbread, and rice. I actually had the mahi-mahi covered in a delicious tomato and olive sauce (alas forgot to get a photo) along with a pineapple shrub drink (vinegar based but sweet NA) and some chickpea fritters (very small). All were delicious. Service was top notch and very kind and patient with our questions and orders. The flatbread seemed a little pricey ($6 for one or $15 for three), but it’s included in some dishes like the soup. Just ask and be prepared to do some a la carte. The dessert was…interesting. A tahini (ground sesame seeds) cream cheese pie. Flavor was very strong. The alternate coconut vegan pie was more pleasing to me.
Overall the food and service is great! There is a bar in back, pleasant decor and lighting (not too noisy like some restaurants) and excellent service. Expand your palate and check out Nineveh!

First time trying the restaurant since moving back to Olympia and was disappointed. I’m not gonna complain it was too expensive because I saw the prices on the menu when I ordered it, but the chicken wings had a lot of feathers left And I’m not talking about little pin feathers either
Ive eaten chicken feet and stuff before so its not like I’m picky. I get it could be that the chickens were of “lower” quality and came from the factory that way but I wish someone at the restaurant would have taken the time to pluck more off. If there were only a few it’d be fine but there were a lot. See pics, and those aren’t even all of the feathers I plucked off there were more
