I tried their thali of the day which was the Indian dhaba thali; best chapatis I’ve had in a while and the curries also tasted good! You get so much stuffs in the thali and it’s totally worth each penny!
The fam tried their tandoori momo – the smell was so good and the taste even better! They also had the paneer roll, some chaats and the corn soup which were great!
Customer service was on point! Kudos to the whole staff!
It might a bit challenging to find a parking spot depending on the time you visit and that’s cause the food is soo good that it might be packed!
Will definitely recommend this place!!!
Update 2026: Had yet another amazing visit with the fam. While they went with their usual orders of momo, soups and paneer roll, I tried the Punjabi thali! Sublime is the only word I could think of when I tasted the food.
The customer service was excellent! They knw how to treat people and this is crucial for customer satisfaction.
First indian restaurant/bistro i have been that did not offer popaddoms and chutney (for free) as welcome appetiser. Drinks came first and 2 out of the glasses were dirty (thank God we ordered bottled drinks).
Food arrived and waiter placed the food on the table without asking who ordered what and left (imagine if anyone of us had dietary requirements or food allergies). Food we ordered was served in melamine or cheap plastic except thali which came in its usual stainless steel.
Food was put on one side of the table as it was easier for the waiter to no do his job. Again, food was brought to the table and no word was said about which is which.
Taste wise- too much chili for local palate in some dishes and the rest was bland or overpowering. With this below 0 customer service, there was no point for second round as waiter was busy chatting with other waiters.
Time to pay the bill, i went to the till and no word was uttered- check was printed and that was it.
First and last time there. There are a lot of restaurant/bistro in Mauritius where people are treated very well and waiters are happy to look after customers. This place is a huge pass for us.
The food is not just prepared, it is crafted with love, warmth, and genuine care. I have developed a true addiction to this place; I find myself ordering from 99 Bistro almost every week, and it never disappoints.
The variety of vegetarian options is remarkable, with dishes so flavorful and satisfying that one taste is never enough. The moment you step inside, your senses awaken, and you already start craving your next bite.
What truly completes the experience is the staff: incredibly welcoming, endlessly charming, and always greeting you with the most sincere smiles. Their passion for service is felt in every interaction, making each visit memorable and comforting.
99 Bistro is not just a restaurant, it is an experience of heart, flavor, and happiness.
Really loved the starters – took momos, wonton soup and spring rolls
Found these really yummy and tasty
For the main course, the daily thalis are amazing for the price – well presented and so many varieties as well as good portions
Took one pizza and 1 pasta
Pizza is simple more like a homemade version – slightly bland
Pasta on the other hand was quite salty
But then it is still an indian restaurant where pasta/pizza are secondary dishes
I would not judge the place based on these two dishes but the other dishes are surely advisable to try
I honestly prefer Namo India Belle Rose and I find it more authentical indian food
But at the Bistro, it really depends on one’s food choice
Definitely recommend to try
The sweets (cakes) and the zafran tea were really nice.
However, the pizzas left something to be desired, resembling more of a bread. Also, the pani puri fell short of expectations, with the breaded sphere lacking the usual lightness.
Darshan does a wonderful job at the bar .. he is very consistent when it comes to maintaining taste … the signature Lemon Soda is just awesome
The Trio Poonam ji, Anil and Darshan makes this eatery the best vegetarian spot by far…
Went with family for dinner. Very bad experience. Ordered Veg Manchurian, which was actually rotten and smelled bad. I complained to the waiter. He checked and said sorry but still billed the same. I asked again then he said he can give other dish but can’t remove from the bill. The lady on the counter was staring at me and my wife angrily.
When the lady on the counter asked the waiter about the problem, I heard him saying that the food was expired.
