nimbu: Indian Street Food

Social Profile:

When life gives you nimbu… make khaana-peena! India’s best food comes straight from the streets — from the galees, carts, and dhabas where hometown chefs cook loud, fast, and with feeling. Food that sizzles, bubbles, crunches, drips, and zings — alive with color, energy, and masti. Nimbu channels that spirit into inspired twists on Indian street-food classics. Dishes are prepared fresh, built around bold, balanced flavors, and designed to be deeply satisfying. House-roasted masalas, handmade chutneys, and a squeeze of chota nimbu bring brightness to every bite — street food reimagined for everyday dining.

An absolute feast for the senses. From the moment you walk in, Nimbu draws you in with its stunning décor — the welcoming Nandhi cow, ornate photographs, and thoughtfully placed Indian street elements instantly transport you back to India. It’s nostalgic without feeling staged, immersive without being overwhelming.

The food more than lives up to the atmosphere. Everything arrived quickly and was executed beautifully. The pav bhaji was crisp, rich, and perfectly spiced. The bhel puri had a bright, zesty balance that was both refreshing and deeply satisfying with every bite. The paneer pakora was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and a total comfort dish for both palate and soul.

Our kids loved their lassis and happily polished off their portions, while my wife and I enjoyed a warm cup of chai to close out an unforgettable lunch. Truly one for the books.

We’ll absolutely be making this a regular stop. Conveniently located in the Trader Joe’s complex, it’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite that transports you straight to the heart of Indian street food — all from the comfort of Princeton, NJ. And unlike the street food that might make you hesitate elsewhere, this is indulgence you can enjoy with complete peace of mind.

My sister and I had to run to Trader Joe’s for clementines and were so hungry! We were going to do chipotle but seen this new restaurant and decided to try it. WOW. We were SO glad that we did! We have told several friends and family since about Nimbu. The owner’s customer service was impeccable and above and beyond. The chai tea was absolutely incredible. I want to bring in my own thermos to get a VAT of this tea

The wings were cooked perfectly and I’m very picky about wings, so this says something.

I got the chicken tikka wrap, and my sister got the one with spinach curry. They BLEW our minds. They were filling, warm; and cozy on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. Just what we needed. I don’t eat out as often anymore because everything is so toxic and makes you feel like crap. This food does not! I felt satisfied yet energized. Crazy.

If I could, I would eat here every day.

Very cute vibes and friendly staff. Fresh, bold flavors that go beyond the typical fast Indian fare in this area. You have to try the pav bhaji. The chai and mango lassi were also a delight. The samosas were tougher and less filled than I would have liked.

So glad they replaced the awful BBQ chain that was here previously. (A fun Easter egg: they kept the cow!) I hope they continue to innovate their menu as their popularity grows and I look forward to my next lunch here.

Loved the Geela Bhel, Vada Pav, Chicken Samosas, and Smoked Wings. For someone who’s never experienced Indian street food before, it was such a fresh, flavorful and unique experience. Recommended for everyone. Also, the decorated cow at the entrance is so beautiful!

I visited Nimbu today with my family. From the finger-licking Zabar-dust Smoked Wings to the Aloo papri chaat, Vada pav, and Samosas, we were blown away by the delicious flavors and variety of foods we enjoyed during our meal! The atmosphere and staff were both warm and inviting! A must visit restaurant!

My family and I took a trip to Nimbu to try out this new establishment as we heard great things. Everything we tried out was absolutely delicious. The food was so flavorful without being overpowering and the ingredients used were high quality and super fresh. The staff couldn’t be nicer, and they were well versed in food allergens which was important to us. The ambiance in the restaurant is beautiful, bright and uplifting. Every detail of this place is well thought out from the food, flavors, and ambiance all the way to their menu/logo design. My kids loved the Chit Chaat Fries & Mango Lassi. So much so, that it was requested that I whip a batch of the Mango Lassi drink for them at home. Thanks for a wonderful experience, and we’ll be back soon.

Amazing vibe with chai and indian street food at Nimbu! The bhel and masala chai were perfect for today’s snowy Sunday. Special mention for this gorgeous Nandi Bull corner inside, with its old mythic tradition kept alive (that you can cover it’s one ear, and whisper your wish in the other, and Nandi holds it, till it comes true!) My friends and I had a blast. We can’t wait to visit again (n again!)
