After a successful run of 15 years, we are sad to report that Nikos is closing its doors promptly at 3:00 p.m. on February 28th, 2023, because the owner is retiring.
Offering a bit of a spectrum of food choices, we’d recommend that you sample their traditional Greek fare including souvlaki and gyro.
Whatever your menu selection, make sure to pour a large helping of tzatziki sauce all over it. Seriously, poured on Greek food (or really ANY food), that stuff is amazing! Just some fair warning, we believe that it might contain enough garlic to repel mosquitoes (and for sure your date).
The only thing we found better than that tzatziki sauce was the baklava and our Review Team had exactly zero trouble believing that it was homemade. Where we did differ was how to attempt to describe it. While I preferred the term “juicy” when describing it, I was assured by the other team members that a better descriptor was “syrupy.” There was no denying that it provided flakey bites of goodness.
We found the service to be friendly and welcoming (as always) and the authentic Greek music playing in the background to be an additive to the environment.

This place is dang great! The food here is so well made. The portions are great! The service is great too! However I bet if they had a better atmosphere they would grab more people. It’s not dirty in the place but it could use a modern touch on the decore. Graphic Design in the place is good but could be better. But other than that the food is the thing you must come to Niko’s!!!! The burgers are great here too!!

Man i missed this place! Great service from beginning to end. I got a #5 which is a Gyro and this time I got half fries /half salad. Everything was just delicious! I could barely bite into the Gyro from how big it was. This place is just Amazing

Stopped by Niko’s for a late lunch and was very satisfied with the Greek salad and the Gyros sandwich. Everything was fresh and tasted great. I also had a piece of the Baklava, which I was told was homemade in the owner’s kitchen. It was also scrumptious, with just the right amount of honey making it moist and a delight to eat! A nice change from the usual fast food options in the area for about the same or just a little more money. Niko’s is definitely worth trying if you are in the mood for Greek food!

We had burgers and the homemade Baklava (the best ever)! Can’t wait to go back and sample the Flamming Feta and the Kabobs, to be honest…the entire menu.

I work close to this establishment. I eat twice a month.
The price is reasonable with a generous serving. The staffs are friendly and service is delightful.
My two 2 favorite lunch meal are the 1/4 lemon chicken special and the 4oz. burger with gyro and seasoned french fries. I’ve been going there for 5years.
I invite everyone to check them out. They are located in the Home Depot shopping center, Melrose, Carlsbad.

Lost Minds
Been coming here for years. I am always greeted by someone immediately when I come in the door. Staff is always helpful and has quick customer service. Food is always hot, fresh, cooked perfectly and served properly being consistent with quality time after time. The home made baklava is the best I’ve had in the area. If you’re short on time, I recommend you call ahead, because they don’t make the food until you order it, so it’s going to be extra fresh, but you are going to wait a little bit longer for that quality. Totally worth it. My only criticism is the outdated menus and hanging menu decor. They really need to be updated to a more professional and modern theme. Something to match the restaurant with some high quality pictures showcasing the delicious food available.
